6000-7000 just picked my season tickets up, and there is some excitement amongst fans collecting their tickets.

Bit of a broad range there. I think we’ll get significantly more than 20 people, but significantly less than 40,000. ;)

I’ll go for 6,500.

Wimbledon have sold around 900.

3000 season tickets (roughly), plus maybe 1500-2000 buying tickets?

Just a guess.

Wimbledon have sold 900 tickets for today? Or do you mean season tickets?
No way do I think they will bring 900. Would be amazed as their away following is usually very small.
Yes it is opening day of the season but 400 max is what I would expect.

Gate today, guess 6750

Considering the ground only holds about 14000 I'm gonna say it won't be 40k.

It should be a very good crowd minus the people who are staying away for health reasons.

If AFC Wimbledon have indeed taken 900 tickets, then we should break 6,000. I would suspect a touch over that, around 6,300.

If they have sold 900 then that’s about 3 times as many as they have ever brought to the Keepmoat.

Gate should be well over 7.000 if they have imo.  Disappointed if it is not.

Rotherham have nearly sold their ground out. What is wrong with the people of Doncaster?

They've sold nearly 7000 season tickets at significantly higher prices than us.

Bigger club than us i'm afraid.

They were never a bigger club than us. Never have been imo.
Why they are generating so much interest this season after relegation is a bit of a mystery if their ticket prices are comparable with ours.

In football if you win crowds go up it's always been the case, where as if we get a top half finish I think most people will be quite happy as we're rebuilding, Rotherham will be hoping for promotion and the expectations are higher creating more of a buzz, hence higher crowds

2017/18
Rotherham finished 4th and went up in the play offs
We finished 15th and the ave gates were only 301 apart.

Rotherham have had 2 promotions in last 4 seasons and expectations seem to be higher there than at Rovers.

Yes but if they have nearly sold out ( ground holds 11.000 ) then they are likely to have a gate of 4.000 more than us.
They are doing something very clever if they are going to generate gates which are way above their normal for League 1.

They are the model yo yo club and therefore that will always create interest. I would have been very surprised if they didn't sell more season tickets than us due to that. They will always start with higher attendance but if we do well and they are average the gates will soon become closer.

You have to ask though, what’s is the club doing to bring in ‘Joe Public’

We’ve obviously got the season ticket holders and a section of regulars but how are we attracting/selling to the floating fans.

How do the Doncaster public even know there’s a game on today. If you took a walk through town, I bet a high percentage wouldn’t even know.

There needs to be a far more proactive push beyond the regulars.

The downside of being honest and keeping expectation low is it not a very good way of selling season tickets ect.

I'm going to go for 5700; I can't see there being a big away following and I think there will be a lot still reluctant to attend due to Covid.
