Test Match
« on August 16, 2021, 05:27:42 pm by Campsall rover »
I know this should be in off topic I suppose. It is Sport though.

What on earths name are England doing. Talk about self destruct.
It has been a shambles today.

Only one team looked like winning at 11.00am and that was us and we are on the verge of losing at 5.20pm

Our bowlers this morning were trying to knock the blocks off the Indian batsmen instead of taking wickets. Completely lost the plot and that includes Anderson.

The batsmen are like headless chickens in front of the lights.

Oh dear oh dear and i am going to Headingley next week for the 1st 3 days of the 3rd test Match.

Why do we have to win last 3

1st Test was a draw if we do lose this one it will be 0-1 with 3 to play.

Well I got boo’d off once when I was 18yrs old for scoring 1 run in 50 mins and again 19 not out in 1hr 30
mins.
We lost both games so maybe England will not call me up.  :crying:

120 all out

Shocking. Need to sort themselves out. That was embarrassing today.

Can’t bat, can’t bowl and can’t field it’s like watching England in the 80’s and 90’s and with the central contract system that’s criminal

Englands 1 2 and 3 are club cricketers, Buttler hopeless when the ball is moving off the wicket and he isn't playing slogging cricket and as for the Currans both of them don't get me started, never been good enough.
Having said that Bumrah is a chucker.

Too much Limited overs cricket Brian. Some of these guys haven’t played 4 day cricket since May.

It’s a joke. But not funny.

no that’s New Zealand, and we will struggle to win any if openers can’t stop there and spend time at the crease and leave a even harder job for the middle order, could easily drop 4 or 5 players on that showing

Another example of SKY remodelling and redesigning a sport for its own greedy purposes as it tries to capture a bigger audi£nce through sidelining the traditional game and delivering the limited over bash while making the ECB financially dependent on them. Its already ripped the heart and soul out of rugby league and tried its damnest to feck up football. RIP cricket as we know it.

Absolute disgrace today! You just bowl line and length to tailenders, it’s not rocket science. I can’t remember in my life time England being so piss poor at test cricket. Without Roots runs it would have been a lot worse. That said, Root’s captaining today was absolutely abysmal. 5-0 ashes - get your house on it.

Instead going to Australia send them to Afghanistan for a series, after that performance.  :chair:

Been to the 3 matches at Headingley for The Hundred and it was brilliant. Took my Grandson to the second game his first ever Cricket match and he loved it.  Place was packed with families.
Gets the kids interested in the game which is brilliant.
Will miss match tomorrow because going to Accrington. Super chargers can’t qualify now so priority is definitely Rovers.
But if players don’t play red ball cricket how are they going to perform at Test level. The Batsmen in particular, they need to be playing before the test matches not 3 months before.

Could easily be far too western and far too middle class

Take Joe Root out of the team and the extras are next best source of runs .

It's ridiculous we are this bad at test cricket .

I'm not one for using the shorter form of the game as an excuse .

Mental strength and a desire to value your wicket seems to escape many of the current lot .

It's not so much the fact that we lose but the way we lose .

Let's hope the ashes are cancelled in the winter .

We'll get trounced .

The Afghan cricket team is mostly comprised of Pakistani cricketers not good enough to play for their own country anyway.

Joe Root is one if the best batsman in the world up there with Smith, Kohli and Williamson. However probably the worst captain in the world.
