Strictly speaking we are equal 23rd, and placed 24th alphabetically - we have equal points, goals scored and conceded as Crewe.

Although it is not good reading and represents a terrible start, there is still plenty of time to turn this round. Let's see what the rest of the transfer window brings, and who extra might be available for our next league game in 2 weeks. But let's also not forget that Fej, Jon and Jordy might all take some time to be match sharp.

Putting aside the relative absence of clean sheets, the back line when fit is good and a midfield of Bostock, Close, Smith and Galbraith is excellent. Clearly we aren’t scoring or creating enough but sort out and get fit that front 2/3 and we are nowhere near relegation. Nowhere.

if a striker got of the bus tomorrow he’d expect to be fed opportunities and we aren’t creating much in the department for him to feed off .

We had 3 or 4 crosses today (low ones) that a decent striker would have buried

Where were Blackpool last season early doors?  Where did they end up?

The table means nothing right now.

Actually, after 7 games they were 2nd bottom.

Didn't Sheffield Utd the year they got promoted from league one lose something like their first few games.

All in all if the performances are consistent the results will follow.

Both Blackpool and sheff u had made alot of changes to the team. So u
Yup I agree

What they also had has was strength in depth. That is where we are clearly lacking

Disappointed to open this thread and it not be about the fracas at the end of the Shrewsbury vs Gills game. Evans vs Cotterill. 2 players off as well as a Shrewsbury substitute for pinning a Gills coach (maybe even Rayner) to the ground.

If a sub gets sent off do you have to withdraw a player on the pitch ???

No it just means he can't come on later in the game. Although given the match report listed in at 90+10 then I'm sure it wasn't an issue.

Reminds me of a wondeful piece of trivia re this guy - appearances 0, red cards 2.

Weren't Barnsley bottom at Christmas or something?

Yes, J; 2015, and we'd beaten them 2-1 at the Keepmoat courtesy of a last minute winner from Chaplow.

Guess what followed? They got promoted through the play-offs, and we got relegated.

Most bizarre one I’ve seen is Kwame Thomas formerly of this parish playing against us

He scored 3 goals in 430 League One minutes for us. This whole team have now gone over 500 minutes without scoring in the league. His record doesn’t look too bad in comparison to the current shambles.

Two of his three came in the 7-1 mauling of a truly terrible Southend United.
