Strange that. ?????

Fancy expecting the fans to feel unhappy. What a genius

I’ve only been to 1 game this season so have no real knowledge of how bad tings are

Regularly reading this forum and the Free Press it seems to me that

1 RW was unfortunate at the start of the season with injuries

2 That is no longer an excuse. This team has been built by him.

3 My interpretation of what I’m reading is that there is a lack of commitment from a lot of the team. If this is right then the blame falls with RW. It is his job to prepare and motivate the team and he seems to be failing miserably.

4 I haven’t read anything from RW in interviews that makes me feel he is capable of changing things. Ever the seems to say is obvious with no indication of how he is going to improve things.

I believe he has a rolling 1 year contract. I’d pay it up and try and move on. I know that we are tight for money but it may be a shrewd investment if we stay up and have another season in League 1

5 It seems to me to be as much about personality as anything else.

6 I don’t come on here very often now but I just feel I want my say. There are lots of hungry young managers waiting for a chance. Let’s take a chance. It can’t get any worse.

If this carries on we could be beyond saving soon

Also I don’t really know how easy it is for clubs to call their players back. If they can it could be a serious consideration for the clubs and maybe the players to say that enough is enough nothing is being achieved in their/my development

If the injuries were a valid excuse earlier in the season why are they not a valid excuse now.
The starting 11 is still missing 5 players who would be playing, look at the state of our bench

It is very bad but seriously, who sacks a manager after 15 games? It’s crazy.

As crazy as not sacking a manager after 30 games when we are still in the bottom 4?

He keeps trying the same thing. Game after game after game. Its not working. Let's try the same thing.

People keep saying this about the same thing but he doesn’t really have much option does he. Look at the bench.
Against Cambridge the other night he definitely changed how we were playing and we got the ball wide as quickly as possible to get more crosses into the box.
Look how many times Galbraith and bostock got the ball wide, that’s not how we usually play so we are trying different ways. But as I say there’s only so much he can change when you look at what’s available

He brought most of these players in though! We have a striker who is 6 foot whatever and i've barely seen him head a football!

He brought in Vilca when we didn't need Vilca.

He did bring them in but he didn’t know half a dozen players would be injured for 15 games.
Moore left us with 7/8 players we only had so much money to buy what we bought nothing left to buy any more.
Vilca was a signing to fill the squad at last minute after other deals had gone tits up.
Similar to gardener and Barlow

I never seen him change a formation yet. 4-3-3

Our formation changes throughout a game.
When Galbraith played right back he didn’t stand there all match did he
When we had the ball he moved into midfield and it worked, we were 3-0 up.
We’re fluid with the system

Why when something goes wrong do most people suggest a change is the way to solve things? And what happens if we do bring someone else in and we only win 2 in 10 games do we then replace the manager again? Newcastle have not won since sacking Steve Bruce

Its a fair point.

My issue is with accountability.

If we give Richie the season and we go down then ok. The problem then is that the club won't lower ticket prices for us to watch what will then be league 2 football. Therefore it is the fans that get shafted all the time. Richie could take us down or into a position that we can't get out of and then get sacked and paid off. He's fine. Its us that have to fork out 22 quid to watch f**king Forest Green Rovers rock up at a 3 quarters empty KS.

If people were made accountable for their failure or if fans were not punished for giving unconditional support of a manager, even one who appears to now know what day of the week it is, then i would be ok with Wellens having longer to turn things around.

I know that some managers do have poor starts and end up turning things around when given the backing. It is a difficult situation.

Yes dickos. And we are shipping goals like its gone out of fashion, especially away from home. What has he done to stop the other team scoring?

Don't forget of course that the players are doing what he asks them to - which we know because he wont play Bogle as he wouldn't do what Wellans asked.

I have mentioned before that he has fallen out with people at every club he has been too. He might have begun his career under Alex Ferguson but he is no Alex Ferguson. He needs to change the way he deals and manages people quickly - or it will be a short career in football.

he did a pretty decent job at Swindon. Maybe he needs additions to the coaching staff or something like a defensive coach perhaps?

Good point about the abrasive nature of Wellens.

Brian Clough or Roy Keane would not make good managers today because players are a different breed mostly. They do not respond to authoritarian management and methods.

I was surprised against Cambridge time and time again both Gardener and Smith pushed up with the front 3 when Galbraiith pushed up from full back to midfield with Bostock. Left a massive gap between midfield and attack

We’ve got problems all over the pitch because we have very poor players. Like it or not, sacking wellens won’t change that.

We are truly shambolic as a club, from top to bottom

He has to go. I would be surprised if he still has support of the players. Being yelled at and sworn at from the sidelines is not going to improve relations with the players. Move on Wellens.

Yes didn’t work aswell against Cambridge which is why he probably changed it after 35 mins
