Black lives...
« on November 24, 2021, 02:42:54 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
If anyone is still upset about black people campaigning for their lives to matter, here's two stories from both sides of the Atlantic today on how black people have been treated.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-59396598

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59385477

For the most part, this doesn't happen to white people. reflect on it.

ALL lives matter. Apart from paedophiles, rapists etc. You get the general gist.

Billy. We don’t need you to tell us this on an off topic football forum. FFS find somewhere else to massage your didactic,  narcissistic ways.

Point being, the Home Office doesn't seem to think that the lives of AfroCarribbean British people who were illegally deported, denied the right to work or had their lives turned upside down matter enough to prioritise sorting out the pile of shit that they threw over them.

I assume you've never woken up to an e-mail telling you that you need to prove that you have the right to remain in the UK, otherwise you're going to be forcibly deported to Austria?

Which is why the way that society treats black people needs to be particularly highlighted.

I’m with Belton on this.
FWIIW I agree with the sentiment of bst’s post but not the way in which the OP is written.
Instead of wording it in a confrontational manner he could have just posted the content for us to read.

Who was BST being confrontational to in the OP?

''Innocence''

''The death penalty carries the inherent risk of executing an innocent person. Since 1973, at least 186 people who had been wrongly convicted and sentenced to death in the U.S. have been exonerated''

The best bet would be every race just get along but it's not going to happen in this country while full estates are white black or Asian, each estate is like it's own town and integration will never happen

That'll be us Brits here then, but apparently we don't matter, we just pay for everyone else.

How are the indigenous Australians seen these days by the rest of the population in Oz these days?
I ask because my wife's sister has lived there for 50 years and she and her circle have no time for them.
The stuff she says about them would make your toes curl.

And disabled people? Society treats them like shit too but i don't see much written about it.

Like the autistic man who has been kept in a secure unit for 21 years despite a psychiatrist having signed him off to be released for independent living in 2013. There is no provision for him so he stays locked up despite having done nothing wrong. Does his life matter?

All lives matter and all minorities in society have it tough and we should be highlighting them all. Not just one section.

Hi Tommy, yes I can understand that, it has been a long battle for native communities to get recognition, acceptance and their rights. It is a very long story from the massacres and evictions suffered at the hands of settlers to land rights gained in relatively recent times. As a marginalised group, spread across Australia they suffered from a history written for them by the white population. This is slowly changing but there is still a long way to go. They are vilified because many do not conform to 'European standards' and do not live nor wish to live the same way. They have a whole different set of values concerning the land and their relationships. Fortunately changes are being made there are many well educated and trained and they are slowly taking control of their own lives and futures. I am not at the front line by any means in this fight but all the groups I am involved with fully recognise and respect that this (Australia) is Aboriginal land always was and always will be, we support them as those in our group support us.
