Sad News

[Dutch Uncle]

It is with the greatest sadness that I have to report that, after a brave but unequal battle against cancer, my wonderful wife passed away peacefully this morning.

I will remember her as beautiful, intelligent, positive, talkative, entertaining, with a smile that would light up a planet, but also as overwhelmingly caring, always thinking of other people before herself. I am the lucky lucky man who could call her my wife, equal partner, soulmate, kindred spirit, best friend and fount of love and support for 32 years. I am very much richer for having met her and the wonderful times we have had, and the two wonderful daughters we have.

One lasting memory is a day at the Keepmoat, while we were visiting from the Netherlands, and she asked why everyone behind us was continually calling for the police. It took me a while, and then I realised I had to explain that there were 2 'p's in Copps.

I will be taking a short break from the board, and difficult as it is will try to be positive:

She is Gone:

Or you can open your eyes and see all she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind
Be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she’d want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
