Doesn't seem to be getting much game-time at Pompey. Go make a statement and get him and Marquis back. Still only 30, experienced and has quality.

Really like the look of Olowu I think he's someone we could potentially develop and play at a higher level, but Downing is the type of no nonsense centre half we need right now would be a great signing but should imagine wages could be a stumbling block

Olowu is getting better each game. He should always start. Given Tom looks to be heading into the black hole of our treatment room potentially never to appear again, and you wouldn’t trust Ro-Shaun with a sharpened stick, we probably need a senior loan centre back given Cam John is also stuck in said black hole for indefinite period.

Yeah, a loan move for Downing would be smart. Gotta remember Olowu looks promising but still so raw and has mistakes in him. If we're serious about staying up I still think he should be back up for now.

Downing would fit in well at Rovers with his injuries.

Faulkner is the future, with Olowu they could be the best young central defenders as a pair we have had.

Can they defend enough to win games with those two playing together from the Morecambe game they maybe the future but can they do it now.

I have seen enough of both of them to think yes, and that they could go for a lot of money for the club in the future. Faulkner right sided and Olowu left sided so a balanced defensive line.
Both are big units good in the air and very quick, and look like defenders and Faulkner tackles like a train hitting the buffers. The biggest problem they have is it is unusual to see youngsters playing central defender, it will take a manager who is willing to take some criticism for throwing a 17 yr old into the game in that position.

Selby genuine question, Monday was the 1st time I've seen Blythe in my opinion he is not physically up for centre back at this level yet, what makes you think Faulkener, again I have never seen, is, by your comments about him, behind Blythe if he appears to be the next bright light? In your opinion should he be in for the next game?

Brian that would be a massive gamble playing a 17 yr old with a 20 yr old at centre back in a relegation scrap.
They maybe the future but not convinced they are the present.

Physically bigger and stronger than Blythe.

Seems the type of player we should be looking for doesn’t he.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see this one happen, SM said we spoke to 4 players yesterday so possible him being one.

Based on what we saw a few years back he’d be a big improvement on what we’ve got.

Marquis looks more likely, linked with Gillingham, Northampton, Salford and Mansfield. If that's his choices Rovers looks good for him, but if he wants to be "darn Sarf" I suppose Gillingham could get out of trouble.

I don't always think its a good thing to have previous players back for another spell, he did great for us in his spell but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since that time.

If the price is right who knows, i would like to bring in someone who we have a chance to take on a permanent deal for the continuity of the team for the next season what we desperately need more than anything is some permanent staff who will still be here the following season, we cant keep having to build afresh each season, its what's killing us now.

Thanks, McCann and the other bloke.

I can see some going into meltdown again if he ends up at any of those clubs!

If not marquis , what about elis Harrison  ? Looks like there off loading him too , only 27
Can remember  him looking a proper handful when he played for Bristol rovers, he looked quick powerful and a goal threat,  not sure why he hasn't progressed. But definitely a pressence and a goal threat ?

Can’t see this happening. We already have 4 centre backs on the books

3 of them injured, probably long term.

Possibly a loan then. Not sure on his contract situation. I’d be happy to get rid of Williams for him
