Who is “ WE” ?

Or is this just your unfounded opinion of a player that doesn’t meet your standard?

He has two arms, two legs and a head. Therefore bound to be better than what we already have that’s fit and available in the forward area at the moment.

So you believe a player currently on the bench at a national league north side is what we need in Jan ? Take a look at his career the last few years before joining Boston.

Arnt “we” all part of Doncaster Rovers. Players, staff, supporters.

Whilst this is true, his record suggests this would be an utterly pathetic signing and a total waste of wages. I hope it’s just his agent getting his name out there. If we’re to have a chance of staying up then we need far better than this.

He's cack, infact  i like many chucked in £50  on JRs  rally call to help the club to bring a striker in only for SOD to hardly play him. He came on at Derby away and was rubbish, total waste of money.

Probably just making the numbers up at training, don't think McSheffrey would sign him,

He’s better than vilcar and Tiago, both of which are likely to be sent packing. Yes not ideal, but better.

I don’t know what some of you fans think we’re going to go out and buy… yes significant funds may have been made available, but we’re still not shopping at the top end of the market are we!

Please start setting your expectation at a reasonable level!

I went to watch Boston on Tuesday, he came on as a sub and did nothing. Surprised we don't get linked with more Boston players given they train at the Keepmoat.

The story is there.  Up to the manager to determine if he's good enough.

If that article is accurate then it suggests he was sent to play for Boston in preparation for coming to us - rather than that’s where he’d dropped down to playing.

Puts a different light on things maybe.?

Our recruitment lol

How helpful do you think that post is, especially when we haven’t signed anyone in this window so far, and even more so as it’s not open yet.??

If the story is true, Lalkovic was a Wellens target anyway, so let’s wait and see, eh.?

The club need to stop relying on trialists so heavily. Of course he's going to bust a gut for 2 weeks. Like Barlow, Gardner...

If the recruitment team have substantial funds at their deposal then signing a player who is not linked with a league club now is not the way to go surely they have learnt from the summer desperation is not the way to go.

I'm not sure of the wisdom of signing a player who's been a sick note his whole career given our injury record this season.

If this is the calibre of player we're looking at, then don't expect much in the way of quality through the door....Surely we should be looking for better ...

Just done a bit of back reading on his career to give him a fair crack in my own mind at least ... he has essentially had two good seasons, both at Walsall, the last in 2014/15 when they finished 3rd in league one and he was a major part of it. He plays as a winger, and has clear technical ability but little pace or physicality. Seems to be still in contact with SOD and Copps if past news articles and his twitter are anything to go by.

The worrying thing is the injuries. Last 4 / 5 /6 years his career seems to be on a downward spiral interrupted by injuries.

Quote
"It (injury) has happened to me many times over the past two years, that's maybe why I find myself in this situation. Thats football. I'll work hard to do what's best."

This has been a recurring Achilles problem going back to 2015...

We are very light on players so i'm not horrified by it. A low wage or pay as you play given his injury record wouldn't be too bad to give us 20min from the bench to try change a game.

Whether this is disappointing or not really needs us to wait and see how he ranks with any other signings we make. If it is just Milan or others of his ilk we're f**ked that's clear.

Even with a decent budget available for this window, people need to get realistic. First, recruiting in January is always very difficult. Second, it is nigh on impossible to get the players you need to stay in League One, if the odds are you will be in League Two next season. At best you are looking at getting League One quality in on a short-term basis e.g. Downing on loan until end of season. Nobody is going to sign longer-term contracts when we are an evens bet to be in League Two next season, unless we throw stupid money around, which we have not got. People need to get real.

Agree with the above but that begs the question are we better saving any additional funds till the summer to try get back up quickly? given better players will be available at more reasonable cost.

I know we have to try and bizarrely we aren't that far away from safety but if this is the level of trying we're capable of it's not worth the money

It's probably sensible to use the budget as we did in 2013/14 when we brought in Sharp, Meite, Tamas and Neill on loan. Top quality players for Championship who made a huge difference. All obviously disappeared when we got relegated, but we would not have been able to sign them that season on longer-term deals. We have enough players out of contract in the summer that if we need to do a complete squad rebuild due to relegation, we have the freedom to do that.
