West Ham are starting him tonight apparently.

I think that decision will reflect badly on the club.

A bit surprised at Moyes with that especially given the noises made today. Possibly the pull of the top 4? Just seems like it's not a big deal in their eyes now they've done this. Even an internal 1/2/3 match ban might have meant something.

Absolutely disgusting. Made me feel sick. He's now at West Ham (as if that matters). I can't imagine David Moyes standing for this shit.

He wants locking up for that.

I stand corrected.

Thought better of Moyes but then again I've never met the bloke!

Don't really need to meet him now. He's a c**t. What an example Moyes has now set. Hey kids, it's OK to leather the shite out of defenceless animals because you won't get into trouble for it and suffer any consequences.

I know obviously it is a whole different ball game but when a player gets accused of sexual assault they get dropped by their clubs. When a player openly abuses a defenceless animal, they get to play the next day. What a message this sends.

Like i said. Moyes. Another self serving pig.

This tells you all you need to know about the Premier League. PL, Zouma, Moyes, West Ham, c**ts the lot of them.

This says it all about West Ham United and Moyes

West Ham manager David Moyes says he is a "human being and an animal lover" but "responsible for getting results" after deciding to start Kurt Zouma in Tuesday's 1-0 win over Watford.

“Responsible for getting results”

That is all that matters with the Premiership and their managers

They’re brushing it under the carpet, I really do hope that either the Police or the RSPCA take this to court.

And fans were ringing in on Talksport on my way home saying it was the correct decision, we needed 3 points, it's only people from teams around us who are complaining, got nothing to do with football, he's one of our best players you can't leave him 'art for kicking a cat etc etc

Just shows how thick and lacking in any moral fibre some football fans are. I can absolutely guarantee that if Harold Shipman was a 30 goal a season striker, Ted Bundy the best keeper in the world and Jimmy Saville a cross between Franco Baresi and Virgil Van Dijk then many fans would be happy to see them play. It really is quite bizarre.

I mean, 3 points are at stake here.  :suicide:

Fined 2 weeks wages (250k) with it all going to charities.

Not enough.

It really is obscene the amount, average Premier footballers are paid, when 2 weks wages for him amounts to 1/4 of a million pounds

What’s a 2 weeks fine to someone who’s earns £125k a week, absolutely nothing. The Kitty Kicker will probably not miss the money. The only good that I can see coming out of this is that the cat has been removed from his care, I use that word lightly and that some charity is a lot better off today!

Not necessarily. His cats have been taken away from him. Pending a court case. If the court case fails or charges are not brought, he will get his cats back. They are his property and if no charges are brought and he can't be persuaded to give them up, he doesn't have to.

The cats will remain in RSPCA care until a court case / resolution of matters. If charges are brought then the cats will be rehomed. Until then however, the cats cannot be rehomed as they are still the property of Zouma until proven guilty and thus they have to stay in an RSPCA cattery until resolution. Which is not ideal as these things can take a long time.

A course of action the RSPCA may want to take is for them to persuade Zouma to sign the cats over legally to the RSPCA so that they can rehomed but this would then mean no charges would be brought and Zouma would then be free to go out and get more cats, if he so wished.

On the fine. When i heard it on the radio it just confirmed the validity of my misanthropic bias.

He will be fined two weeks wages. A QUARTER OF A MILLION. 2 WEEKS = A QUARTER OF A MILLION POUNDS. Let that sink in.

f**king hate football the top level. 250 grand for a bang average animal abuser who kicks a bag of wind about. Truly absurd world that humans inhabit and are happy to accept.

Meanwhile, nurses get about 30k a year.

CDH,

Perhaps his employer could insist he rehomes the cats and makes a commitment to not owning anymore animals.

He's also lost his sponsorship deal with Adidas and a couple of other smaller businesses.

And apparently a legal complaint has been lodged in Paris, the video has also caused widespread revulsion in France. If he were to go back home there is the possibility he could face arrest and jail time.

Yes. That is one course of action. The issue is that he is still free legally to own animals and there is no guarantee he'll keep the commitment. What if he moves abroad? The best thing IMO, knowing how animal abusers operate is to first and foremost get any animals away from them and then get them rehomed. Punishments don't usually have any effect because many who get bans from keeping animals just go and get more anyway as there is nobody to enforce this.

I know many RSPCA Inspectors personally and they are continually frustrated as they literally have to visit the same people constantly to remove animals because they've had a ban and then got some more. The issue is then that these animals have to be found space in animal shelters which are already often chocker as it is.

People like Zouma know what they have done is wrong. They just don't care. He'll probably go do it again in future.

Every prosecution costs money and unless it is a particularly horrendous case such as entire farm buildings filled with the carcasses of pups or sophisticated badger baiting rings or dog fighting, it often isn't worth the effort of prosecuting people if the animals that are being abused can be removed with the owners permission to get rehab and rehomed.

Animal Welfare law / punishment in this country isn't stringent enough and needs reforming.

I’m unsure cruelty to cats would have formed part of his contract at Wet Sapm.
But £28.9 million goes a long way to helping you keep your job.

Zouma's brother, the Dagenham & Redbridge defender who filmed the video has been suspended by Daggers until further notice.

Once again, the lower leagues show the big boys how it's done and what family clubs are all about.

Well done Daggers!

Zouma does start for West Ham today against Leicester. Funny thing is. West Ham won't finish in the top 6 or probably even top 8 so hard luck Mr Moyes. Can't say you won't deserve it.

Another twist.

It is claimed that Zouma has picked up an injury during the warm up for the game today and he won't be playing now.

According to the BBC, Zouma felt ill in the warm up and didn't play. Hopefully the pressure of being hated by fans is having the desired effect.
