Been given a knighthood.

I wonder what he has on Johnson, cos there is literally less than f**k all genuine reason for this.

And not announced in either a New Year's or Queen's Birthday honours list, which is very odd.

Let's be right about this.

Williamson was sacked by one PM for leaking Cabinet documents that compromised national security.

He was then sacked by a second PM for  (and f**k knows it's a field full of stuff competition) being by some way the most incompetent Cabinet Minister of the COVID crisis.

And now he gets a knightood.

Out of the blue.

In the middle of the biggest foreign policy crisis in 75 years.

It's one tactic to appoint another unelected bureaucrat  .,. You know the ones we left the EU to avoid because we had had enough of them  :turd:

What we had it was said was a better way of doing things because we had "the power" to deselect them if they were "crap"

Now Williamson has been elected to the Privy Council and Johnson made his pal Goldsmith a Lord as he kept losing Elections.

People at grass roots level kept rejecting him in Elections - and they were closest to him - no problem said Johnson - we'll make him a Lord and he will never have to bother with the ballot box any more

So grateful was LORD Goldsmith that he often loans his massive Spanish Villa in Marbella I think to Johnson - when he goes missing inaction (sic) , that's where he is

I genuinely thought it was April 1st when I saw the headline. Just what was in that little red book upon the whip in the GW photo call?

And presumably because Williamson knows what an inveterate liar Boris is, he's insisted that the knighthood is announced immediately so Boris can't go back on his word. It's the only reason I can think of that it's been announced out of the blue like this instead of at the normal times.

Or another way of looking at it is if Johnson gets evicted from Number 10 the next incumbent may not be as beholden to Williamson and tell him to whistle for his Knighthood

I suppose I wrote that in the wrong tense as it is a fait accompli now
