Roadworks
« on March 24, 2022, 10:12:55 am by roversdude »
Supporters attending Saturday’s clash with Charlton Athletic at the Eco-Power Stadium should be advised that the M18 northbound will be closed throughout the weekend.

As part of on-going resurfacing work, the M18 will be closed on the northbound carriageway between junction two and junction three - the closest motorway access point to the Eco-Power Stadium.

Highways England have advised a fully signed diversion will be in place. This will involve the use of junction 36 of the A1 and travelling initially along the A630 Warmsworth Road towards Doncaster town centre.

Junction three will be open to traffic using the southbound carriageway towards the A1 and M1.

In addition to the disruption caused by roadworks, supporters of both Rovers and Charlton are advised to allow for additional travel time to the game, with traffic in the area expected to be busier than usual due to the Lincoln Handicap meeting taking place at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday afternoon.

Resurfacing work on the M18 was due to be carried out earlier in the year but the storms of February forced a postponement.

The carriageway will be closed from 10pm on Friday, March 25 until 6am on Monday, March 28.

Recipe for chaos on Saturday although M18 shouldn’t be too much of a problem after the game

What happened to Friday night matches when racing as on.

Would it not have been sensible to have had a 12.30pm kick off.

... and I think there is the 3 week closure under Rail Bridge at Sainsburys for 3 weeks  with diversions which could be horrible

Would come by train but its a Rail replacement bus lol ... so it gets stuck in traffic as well
