Just back from that and the stadium was rammed. Must have made more than a few quid for the club.

Will be interesting to see the effect on the pitch.

Cracking night, really enjoyed it. Didn't enjoy paying £5.70 for a small can of Bud like. Hopefully it's made the club a few quid, & hopefully the pitch has held up ok.

My lad was working in. The pop up bars outside the stadium.

A few lads I know had back stage passes for the after party

I once filled my car up with petrol & Denis Law was filling his car up opposite.

Did you fight him and lose?

I think there's a song title in that......

I also shared a similar petrol forecourt experience; filling up whilst Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer did the same.

No song in that though.

I had a long conversation with John Parrott at the races on Thursday. What a cracking bloke. Certainly knows his racing.

Brilliant concert, loved the Paul Heaton / Donny connections. Glad I had insider knowledge of parking

For those that didn’t attend, you missed a great night of music.  I didn’t hear The Lathums who were on first.  The Proclaimers were excellent, but only played about 40 minutes.   Paul & Jacqui we’re on for about 1 hour 20 mins and again we’re excellent with many of the old favourites being played from The Beautiful South & The Housemartins.
On the football side, Paul introduced his band members by their first names followed by the teams they support.   There were no Rovers fans in the band and all the teams got a chorus of boos from the audience, especially Leeds, Bolton, Charlton, Man City and even Paul’s team Sheffield United who did get a few cheers as well.
More or less three sides of the ground were packed, as was most of the pitch, so I reckon there would have been about 20,000 there.

That is brilliant, two great concerts well attended, the club will have learnt a lot about staging such events, entertainment companies will be confident there is a market for the product in the area and will want to come again, and the customers will want to come again hopefully, and we are starting to use our facilities to maximise income streams other than for football.

The comments from.people far and wide are really positive.

My friend who's a Sheff Utd fan, visited the Eco for the first time and said what a fab set up we have there

Don't forget we've got the Rugby League World Cup coming later this year too.

Perfect 10

We got a perfect 10(Tomlin) doesn’t want to wear a 12, Gary(McSheffrey) keep a little 2 for me.
Barlow could be sweet 16 busting out with dreams.
Still rovers in first degree.

When Ben Close is at my gate with a big fat 8.
Even Tom Anderson at my door, with a 4,4.
There ain’t no man can replace.

Cos we love our clubs in different sizes, I love the rovers, especially the lies.
The board takes its toll but not on the eyes.
Promise me this rovers, win it tonight!.

Great sets from The Proclaimers and Paul Heaton/Jacqui Abbott - their voices should be declared a National Treasure.

Really well organised from what I saw - walked straight in to the ticket check, 10 minutes queue for a beer, plenty of room on the pitch to find somewhere to stand (my days of going down the front are long past!), no queues for the toilet.

C'est la vie.
