The Belles

Can't help but think we're missing a golden opportunity having the Belles playing out at Thorne.

They got 1000 at sincil bank last week and we should be exploiting the interest in the women's game by getting them in at the keepmoat.

Admittedly They won't attract massive crowds but as part of Club Doncaster this would help to raise their profile and undoubtedly attract more people down.

Or at least somewhere more central like Armthorpe or Rossington. Miles away in Thorne on edge of city limits.

They will be playing at the Eco Power from time to time.

The new kick off times of WPL and Betfred League 1 mean the Belles and Dons clash when both at home.

It’s further than Thorne, Thorne Colliery ground is in Moorends, the land that time forgot

Ha ha I'm looking forward to popping down the road on a Sunday afternoon tbh but I do wonder if they're missing a trick given the current interest in the women's game.
How long will the wave last though?

The League authorities have first to agree to have games re scheduled and the club’s management is surely aware  of the potential interest .

There is a wider problem coming along the road with the way women's football is being pushed onto the public.
It is now in the hands of the big clubs, who are not in it for the good of women's football in general, but to generate ever increasing moneys for the clubs themselves mainly from TV rights.
The only real area they can generate more revenue is by redirecting moneys from the men's game at the lower ends, the EFL and grassroots football, an area that they reluctantly part fund with the grants to the lower leagues, which is money they could redirect into their own women's game which they have largely the monopoly of in the large cities.
And they can do it easily in the new woke world sighting equality, which the government and news outlets will no doubt go along with, and smaller clubs in the EFL like ours will carry the costs and fall even deeper behind just the few clubs from the Championship upwards.
TV will have a new product, the big clubs will not be funding other smaller clubs, the EFL will get even less exposure and some good long established clubs will go out of existence for a product that in effect would come in at about level six or seven (probably academy standard) or even lower at best in the men's game and will filter down to the cost of local and boys clubs Sunday league sides the game administrators at the top are totally disinterested in.

15 mins by car from Doncaster.
Not a big deal if you want it.
Better pitch than Armthorpe or Rosso.
A willingness to support the Belles which isn’t evident elsewhere..

“There is a wider problem coming along the road with the way women’s football is being pushed onto the public.”

Deary me. Those pesky women killing the men’s game how dare they ruin it for men.

Back to your cave.
But not before you enlighten us on how much the Belles cost Club Doncaster.
