What music you pumping into your ears?
« on August 25, 2022, 04:08:42 pm by Nudga »
After reading the Tory propaganda/control and the BBC thread made me think about opening this thread.

I can't get enough of System of a Down at the minute and bit of Rage Against The Machine.
Although Zack de la Rocha is more of a sympathiser to the machine nowadays

There's only one song that captures the UK of today in my opinion .

The one and only John Lydon and PIL and " Rise " .

Class song and a class man .

Anger Is An Energy .

Lydon is a multi-millionaire who lives in California. Anger is a right good earner...

I’ve been following a lad from Edinburgh called Hamish Hawk since hearing him on Bbc6 music.

He’s slowly getting bigger and supported Simple Minds at a gig in his hometown recently.

A bit different to my usual fodder of angry punk and Junkshop glam lol

Mugnapper for all his faults the one thing I don’t think you can say about Lydon is he’s thick. Far from it in my view.  Lots of faults etc but definitely not thick

Not as much as the UK public did concerning Saville .

Lydon called it in 1978 and for that he has my utter respect .

There's a direct influence isn't there (but not copyists) I see they have a sponsorship deal with adidas Spezial now. That's not really selling out for a band like this.

Saw the snuts last year, very good live.

Had the new embrace album on today, quite a good one that and the new muse album. That includes a song that many of us could have written "we are f**king f**ked".

By 'refreshing' do you mean keeping all your money for yourself is better than donating it to/or supporting socially benefical causes (like Pink Floyd doing their recent single for Ukraine) BB?

Might go see his 'mate' Jah Wobble who is playing down here in a coupe of weeks. Next gig will be Cary Grace next weekend.

Last lp bought was the vinyl of the latest Half Man Half Biscuit album.

I'm enjoying Amyl and the Sniffers, IDLES and the latest Frank Turner albums at the moment.  I picked up the Electronic remixes mini album at the recent Record Store Day too. That's rather lovely.

You must go the Wroot rocks gigs if this lot are your bag. I’m going to Ey up mi duck festival in Epworth next May which is full of this type of band

No, I don't mean that Wilts. Are you suggesting John Lydon doesn't give financial donations?

Last night we went to hear the Ensemble Royale de Paris a quintet, 3 violins a cello and double bass with Romanian soprano Andrea Carmen Marin in one of the oldest religious buildings in Paris, very atmospheric.
