Yorkshire CCC
« on September 29, 2022, 05:20:15 pm by Campsall rover »
To get away from politics and bickering.

Yorks CCC just relegated. Hampshire needed 139 to win and fell 5 short to keep Warwickshire up and send the White Rose down.

Sick as a pig.
All Kholer-Cadmore  had to do was bat sensibly yesterday but no he thought he was playing hit and run cricket and got caught out on the boundary trying to hit a 6.
He did something similar 1st innings also. Totally irresponsible from him.
Off to Somerset next season so don’t suppose he could care less.
Very poor from an experienced player. Probably cost us our 1st Div status.

Having said that the season is 14 games and we only won the 1st one, so we were simply not good enough.
Very young team this season which will only get better.

2nd division Champions next season is very achievable with a fit Coad and Fisher and new boys Masood ( capt ) and Milnes.

Maybe relegation will be of benefit to these youngsters so not all doom and gloom.
Yorkshire till I die. Come on the white Rose boys.

Still the most County Championships won ... Last time I looked Yorkshire had more than 2nd and 3rd put together but that was a few years back

Not followed it as much this year but how many games were rain affected  i.e. where Yorks might have gone on to win or even draw ?

That used to stop us winning a lot more games than we did in the 3 day era

Until this last few weeks it hasn’t rained for four years so probably no rain affected games!

That is the question all the members have been asking.
Usually he makes himself available when he is able to play for Yorkshire.

No rain affected games this season.

We have had several that were very close games and we either lost or drew them all.

The most frustrating thing is if we had our full squad fit and available along with every other county then we would probably be the champions.
Only Surrey on paper would be near. Lancashire 3rd.
Our batting line up would 1960’s esq.
Lyth, Malan, Root, Ballance, Brook, Bairstow.

The chairman wants booting out on his backside with the rest of the board, basically it is a bankrupt institution, and it is their responsibility.
And it is not just bankrupt financially.

To be fair though Camp's, you can't rely on Root, Bairstow, Malan and Brook as they just xsnt play enough games to contribute when involved with England in any way. You may as well discount them from the squad.

Well I know that. I was just saying that if every county had a full squad to choose from ( which isn’t going to happen ) then Yorkshire would probably be good enough to win the County Championship. ( on paper we would be the strongest squad )
We also have not seen Willey and Rashid this season in 4 day cricket as well as those batsmen
Coad and Fisher been injured almost all season.

Last Yorks Physio got sack with the rest of them and he is Asian ethnicity.
He is quoted as saying he has never heard any racism in the Yorkshire dressing room. Been at the club about 8 yrs I think.
I am saying nothing more.

Heard the ECB may have relegated us if we had stayed up.  :that:

Patel hasn't done bad out of close to bankrupting the club on and off the field of play, paying himself a £220 k salary.
Strikes me as a con merchant who will walk away probably shortly when the money runs out.

Maybe the club are now reaping what they sowed with the mass cull of staff after the Rafiq allegations. People being sacked on mass

The club has suffered. It must have caused a certain amount of uncertainty and apprehension within the club

I could imagine it’s now possibly a very inhibited place to work with people feeling insecure about their future and unhappy with how things were dealt with. Some people still working there must have been friendly with some of those sacked.

Yes unbelievable how one man ( Rafiq ) can wreak so much havoc at one of Crickets greatest institutions.
He was supposed to be best friends with Gary Ballance and now GB is so mentally scarred he is unable to play for the team.

If Rafiq was racially abused then could he tell us why he came back to the club for a second spell.
The whole episode is a total disgrace.
