Gone Fishing.

Just started watching series 5 of this fantastic programme with Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer (&Ted!) & each series continues to surpass the last.

The executive producer Lisa Clark & director Robert Gill have put together a special piece of tv viewing.

The pieces of music used, the slow motion shots all add to the overall beauty of the ‘show’.

There is a real chemistry & ‘love’ between Bob & Paul that manifests itself in their unforced comedic moments & their often poignant subject matter they lightheartedly discuss together.

In episode 3 Paul talked about those times when you wake up in the night, look at the clock only to see it’s once more at that ‘dreaded time’ of 2 a.m. when you know “well, that’s me lying awake till 4 then”. I find myself (as I too often do) in one of those ‘time gaps’ now!

As the world around us gets ‘madder & more scary’ as each day passes, Paul & Bob ‘transport me’ in that all too brief 30 minutes to a more sane & peaceful place.

It’s pure joy to watch.

Absolutely superb TV. Although I sctually have very little interest in fishing the show itself is both calming and funny.

Unfortunately with Bob's current health issues I do fear how many more series there will be.

Took Mrs TFE to the live show earlier this year . It was just like sitting in pub with two mates, just sat chatting making each other laugh

We watch it with silly smiles on our faces.
The British countryside is simply beautiful.
After a couple of episodes of Narcos or Dahmer, it’s something gentler to go to bed on.

Adore the program and the honesty of both Paul and Bob, in Bob’s book he alludes to the fact, the program nearly didn’t happen but as they were filming wondering how it was going to work, Bob fell over and the rest is history as they say.

Wonderfully put. I love "serious" TV but I actively seek out light hearted, innocent stuff like this to counter it at times. As a regular visitor to the N Yorks coast I loved the episode they did in Staithes.
