Thought the pitch stood up impressively.

PNG won the game in the first half and spent the rest of the match just grinding the poor old boyos into our featherbed top

England will finally get a game in this tournament from these fellas, providing they get the side of the draw away from Aus and NZ (don't know if this will work out this way but in a home world cup you would of thought they would of ensured that) they will be in the final.

Final will be a decent game but a big gulf to bridge to the Aussies.

Had a walk round Sandall Beat and the racecourse this morning.
Called in at the Hilton half way for a coffee.
The PNG team were sat around the foyer. Had a chat with some of them.
They were very confident about tonight.

The pitch looks incredible after the action it has seen over the last couple of weeks and with these conditions tonight, all credit to the groundstaff, don't think the pitch can be beaten by any other ground this tournament

I watched some of the game on telly and thought the pitch looked great.  Hardly cutting up at all even in that monsoon.

Mind you, the way RL is played these days there’s no more wear than football.

I was at the game last night and the pitch held up extremely well given the amount of rain.  Atmosphere in the South Stand was great and, given the difference in class between the two teams, it was still a good game to watch.

Two criticism's really....

The BVB wasn't open after the game - it would have been nice to have been able to stop for a drink while the traffic dissipated

and

Something really does need to be done about traffic and entry to the car parks for events like this. It was an abomination, with people even going the wrong way round roundabouts to avoid the queue's. Maybe get the council to make the road one-way on match/event days.  There were a lot of people still coming into the stadium well after kickoff!
