Agreed selfish and arrogant, after all that Checo has done for him, and Horner licks his arse

Yeah - even if that was about what happened in Monaco, he's clearly forgotten the defensive job Perez did for him on Hamilton last year. Could half understand it if he was still scrapping for the championship but it's all wrapped up, so he's just a childish, selfish t**t.

From independent source and with no alterations , this lays out the controversy in one simple page

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/perez-fumes-as-verstappen-defies-red-bull-team-orders-he-shows-who-he-really-is/10399529/#:~:text=Red%20Bull%20faces%20a%20team,in%20the%20Brazilian%20Grand%20Prix.

Like everything in life I am sure Verstappen will have around 50% of people supporting what he did yesterday and a similar 50% criticising it without reservation

He's a winner granted, and I could see the point if it were for a podium or better - but to demand to finish 4th in a dead rubber and screw over your team mates chance of 2nd place in the championship is very short sighted. Your team mate having your back is of far more value than adding a couple more points to an already championship winning points total.

That said he will be backed, and Perez will know his drive will be under threat if he doesn't roll over next season and do his job of deferring to Verstappen. Particularly if rumours are to believed and Ricciardo could be back at RB waiting in the wings ready for his opportunity to get back in an F1 seat.

If Tomlin taking the ball from Miller to take the penalty against Mansfield (I assume he must have been feeling enough ‘pain’ at that time to have thoughts of retirement) robs George of becoming top scorer in lg2 this season by one goal, that’s as bad in my opinion.

Selfish greed for a moments ‘glory’.

Where was the glory in finishing 4th rather than 5th? Just petulance and arrogance. He's an excellent driver, absolutely ruthless to a level not seen since Ayrton Senna, and laser focused on success from a very young age. Seems those attributes don't appear to equal a great human being.

Seems to be the more successful you get in F1 the worse human being you become

I guess it needs a certain personality to get to the top. Even tougher to stay there. Its telling that Rosberg jacked it all in as soon as he won the title, that life just wasn't compatible to going home to a family. Hard to believe this is the same guy that pulled 'Multi 21'

Yes .... possibly very short sighted of him .

How ironic if it went to say George or Ham being in a race for title with Grrrstappen next Season and 5 races from end or 4 or even 3 Grrrstappen has to win to keep the Title alive and Perez gets him in his sights and takes him out

Team Radio crackles Perez says " sorry Team but that's for Brazil last Season"

OK it might not happen but Ayrton Senna is without doubt my all time hero in sport and I firmly believe when he took Prost out on first bend in Japan to win the World title he did it deliberately , and he had planned it totally as revenge for Prost trying to do it to him 12 months earlier

Prost was out of that GP but Senna drove on and would have won the Championship  had he NOT been disqualified by Prosts French counterpart Jean-Marie Balestre

So Perez is a danger now and Grrrrstappen will not know when a big incident might come or when he will be meeting "passive resistance"

I can’t stand the bloke, horrible person it seems who wants everything his way and as soon as it doesn’t he throws the toys out.

Not sure if anyone has seen, but in 2018 at the exact same track on the exact same corner, verstappen was blocked out by ocon, direct parallel with what happened with Hamilton in 2022, and he was pushing/shoving/grabbing ocon in the garage after.

Him and Horner are the worst!

Well .... judging by the replies this is certainly one of the least divisive posts on here for a while

The threads almost all critical of Grrrstappen as I will have to call him from now on

Let's hope Merc and Ferrari get their a***s in gear and make F1 more interesting with a 6 way scrap .... giving Grrrstappen something to worry about

Most top F1 drivers are arrogant, over confident and up themselves.  They have to be, to drive right on the edge of the edge.  A bit like fighter pilots..

There are of course exceptions, some nice guys do succeed, but in the main these drivers are putting their lives on the line in order to be the best.

Verstappen might behave like a Kitson sometimes, but it is understandable.

Then you have the uniqueness of characters like James Hunt..

I think you meant Jackie Stewart or maybe Dick Brabham?
