On a scale of 1 - 10 I would say minus 3

Good enough to stay up in League Two, which is what we should be focusing on now as the immediate priority.

Don’t feel like bothering on Thursday, if the players and manager can’t be bothered why should we be bothered?

At least we had all our technical players on the pitch.

Clearly nowhere near good enough to get away with playing in full-on pink!

I’d make ‘em play in bloody bin liners!

We're deservedly 3 goals worse than a limited looking mid-table League 2 team who had not won any of their previous 10 matches.

Anyone fancy speculating why (yesterday) we set off looking like we had a plan , and for say 10 minutes did it look like we were making Tranmere look like they hadn't won in 10 AND with 10 mins gone we were going to make it 11 in a row for them

OK we weren't world beaters and of course we didn't score ... then after that we stopped playing like we had been and just went off

Why would that happen and why after it did or does can we not simply start again doing what we were doing

Well that's a good theory but then why when JT got injured did they not just take another set ?

Maybe like the rest of us they all got bored watching Mitchell passing to Anderson who played it back to Mitchell who then played it to Anderson to play it back again to Mitchell who eventually booted the ball up to Miller who was all on his own.  :headbang: :headbang:

I was asked by someone at the club where I thought we would finish this season, I said 12th and that was being optimistic. I genuinely think the clubs hierarchy thought we had a top 3 squad.

It’s not impossible we make a few really good signings in January and end up making a push for the playoffs. Based on recent transfer windows that would be by luck rather than judgement though.

Tomlin was an odd signing and probably not the best use of limited resources, but he was the only player who got you on the edge of your seat and offered some spark of real talent. Barring Hurst if and when he plays and Molyneux on occasions, this is such a dull, workmanlike squad. Just that they don’t work. It’s lukewarm porridge. You eat it but it’s not especially nice and in no way makes you look forward to your meal.

It was obvious our recruitment hadn't improved when the first player announced was Biggins, he was never the kind of player to get us promoted. I've said our team hasn't had any creativity since we had Coppinger, Taylor Richards and Sims, we managed to get some for about 5 games then he decided to retire too. Knoyle is our most creative player, so let's not play him at center back. Schofield's way of playing can work at this level, the idea that all players at this level can't pass is daft, obviously some can't but with the right recruitment (which not sure I have faith in) we can make it work. We just need players who can play progressive passes from defence into midfield then in midfielder we need players who can progress or create chances, and obviously players who make movement to demand the ball. It's not a complicated game, it's just complicated by people who think jockeys need to be horses before they become jockeys.

I saw most of the second half of Orient v Stevenage 0-0 and the level of skill was hardly comparable to that which we saw from Rovers in those first few games before either McSheffery or Schofield got at them!

What gets me so annoyed, is no from the club will say that was shocking and not acceptable, and we apologise to all the fans that went to today’s game, or these players don’t deserve to be on 4K to 6k a week, they are robbing the club and supporters and not worthy of putting on a Doncaster Rovers Shirt.

If they did that they would be apologising all the time. You buy your ticket and step into the unknown. People want guarantees, there aren’t any in sport.

The Keeper is a below average league 2 keeper.
If we had Knoyle Anderson Olowu and Maxwell playing regularly they could be a top 10 defence.
Midfield we haven’t got one Close and Rowe when fit are good enough. Clayton and Biggins like the goalkeeper are below average for this league.
Forward line Taylor’s finished Molyneux totally overrated and done nothing so far. Hurst needs time could improve. Miller needs help up front. Agard and Griffiths should never have been signed. So overall we are a mid table side as our results show. The manager is trying to get them to play a system that will not work consistently like McSheffrey in flexible to change. But to be fair the hierarchy believed we were better how they thought that I don’t understand. It’s now up to the HOF to get things right along with the Chairman as  we will be poor for the rest of the season.

Don't forget last January we signed only free agents who hadn't played regularly in a long time or young lads who had never played League football regularly.

Nothing wrong with that at all, they just have to be the right ones, not signing players who have not played football league level would have cost us Herbie Kane.

I largely agree with this. I wouldn’t let this chap sign any more than 3 so long as he ships the same out. New players is no guarantee of change. He has to prove his worth first. If we continue to play this tippy tappy b*llocks we aren’t going to get the steel in we need. I don’t want to be lumbered with more gutless dross when he inevitably gets the boot.

I don't much like the tippy tappy b*llocks either but I don't think they are mutually exclusive.  Having defenders who can work the ball out from the back doesn't automatically mean they will have no steel.  Do you think John Stones and Harry McGuire lack steel?

they most definitely do. But we’re shopping at a completely different store. If players have both I’d suggest they wont be languishing in League 2.
