23 games and 34 points. Our last two promotion seasons from the fourth tier were 2016/17 and 2003/04.At half way point in 2016/17 we had 46 points and in 2003/04 we had 49 points.
We probably need 40 points in the second half of the season to scrape into the playoffs. That's the best we can hope for from here. With a bit of improvement starting today we can do that. A new player or two this month would help.
It could happen, but there is no evidence this season under either McSheffrey or now Schofield that this group of players could deliver this. Given we are unlikely to be making wholesale changes this window, we’ve got the same group of players who have proved so inconsistent and underwhelming for the first 23 games of the season, for the rest of the season.
We are highest in the table out of all 4 relegated teams.
