Loads in London especially the outer ring, climate is mild enough for them to survive

It was quite a sight during the deluge.
I was a little worried when it looked like it got stuck in the roof net.
Funny seeing grown men sing at them.

I thought I’d recorded them but silly git I hadn’t - did anyone else film them.
Great bit of humour singing at the one that got stuck

Ring necked parakeets, escaped birds initially and now they are very common in London, when we played at Fulham a few years ago there were loads by the River. Even get the odd one round Donny

As you come out of Sheffield mail centre I see them quite regularly roosting in trees opposite the office.

I used to be based down at RAF Northolt. Always used to see them in the mornings and early evenings. Used to blow my mind being a small town boy in the big city  :)

Pside,

I saw 6 parrots in my boys garden in Rickmansworth  which is just down the road from Northolt. They are a very common sight just like Red Kites are now.

The sad thing is we no longer see house sparrows, thrushes, blackbirds!!!

house sparrows, thrushes, blackbirds!!!
All three of these nest in my garden in Wheatley.
At times I’ve seen 30 sparrows in the hedge waiting as i’ve filled the feeders up.
We’ve also got blue tits, robins, a wren, wood pigeons, doves and a Sparrow hawk as regular visitors.

Same as my garden there knockers, plus we have regular fly pasts from buzzards.

Regularly spotted at Sprot Flash.

They do have adverse effect on "native" birds by getting most of the food etc .

Loads and loads of Starlings, Gold finches, Magpies, Crows, Jackdaws

but by far my favorite is the Red Kite. When the farmer ploughs his field at the back of my house there are too many to count, they just will not stand still long enough to allow me to count.

Back to football I m now looking  forward to the Crawley game.

No Parrots there apparately

Colin,
For quite a few years we had a blackbird with a broken wing attend our garden but alas last year he was missing.

Green finches were very common but they were no where to be seen last year.

When it comes to feeding, the Starlings dominate proceedings. I thought there was a shortage of Starlings? that's because they are all in my garden.

Since Crawley is only 4 miles from Gatwick airport the birds will have learned the hard way to keep away from the area ?

never mind we still have our memories of the "Burton pigeon"  :suicide:
