Calendar confirmed at 6 15 but spoiled things (nah not really) by saying Scunny were voted out of the Football League at the end of last Season

Nah they were crap and demoted due to the Points they finished with ... a bit like this Season perhaps

It is a shame to see clubs being picked off like this when football in this country has never been richer, it is about time the Prem was made to pay up towards the grassroots like Rovers and Scunny.

Does anyone else think that there's zero chance of Scunny being wound up through this?

Unless they get a buyer very soon then there is every chance they could be wound up.
If they can’t pay the Inland revenue then it’s curtains. They will give them a deadline and if there is no sign of them getting paid, we’ll that will be it for them.

My predictions are usually polar opposites of reality so yes I think there is zero chance of them being wound up !!!

Hope I'm wrong though

Maybe I'm just numbed by media hype, these days.

I hope they survive.

Whoever is interested in buying the club is under time pressure to settle with HMRC.

That might just be the thin end of the wedge, if Scunny have outstanding debts to other people.
Basically, buying the club means taking on the debt burden built up by the owner trying to sell.

This is what is annoying about folk going on about Rovers board.
They face criticism for not pushing out the boat, then people say move over for new "investors".......if they do the first, the second becomes much more difficult if the running debt level is too high.

When I was about twelve years old I was gobbed on by a large group of Scunthorpe fans at the Rosso end as I walked by. Brave grown up men spitting on a twelve year old.

Many years later while we were finding our feet in the Conference I seemed to bump into a number of patronising Scunny fans who all wanted to say, “y’see the trouble with clubs like Donny is….”

So I loved seeing the roles reversed when they fell out of the Football League. But for all that, I hope they survive. I don’t wish extinction of any club. Except MK Dons.

Yes, exactly. 'Sell and f*ck off. But in the meantime, would you mind awfully just carrying on running the club and paying the bills!"

An excellent article…but not looking good for The Iron. By the way, is the interim CEO, Lee Turnbull, the one who played for the Rovers many years ago?…just wondering.

A chink of light?

''Football finance expert, Kieran Maguire told BBC Radio Humberside that the club would have received multiple notices before a winding up petition would have been served. However, he said this is not the first time a football club has been given such notice but 'most stories are good rather than bad' with clubs making their way out of financial plights.

"We do see these with other football clubs, Southend United for example, they practically have season tickets with the HMRC with the number of times they have been served with winding-up orders, but at the last minute the club owner manages to find money to pay them off," he added''
