Not the usual budget thread. It’s crap, we have no ambition. Who ever we get in, there will be the usual crap.

Well its an important consideration with so many holes in the team/squad.

Are we going to sign some proven players or get fobbed off with kids on loan?

Yes we all want new players. But it will be what it will be. I am never interested in a budget. Leave that to the club. But others constantly want to go on about the budget every summer and January

I’ve learnt to not look forward to any transfer window for us these days, they rarely ever excite you.

Granted I did feel good after the summer one but that soon diminished with our poor performances.

Fully agree with Mush, we've had words from the club on finances now they need to back up their words with appropriate actions.  As ever will wait until the window's closed to make a judgement on whether it's good or bad.

If we are to look at this honestly we’ll also have to accept that going out of the cups early won’t have helped. That blow ought to be off set (and maybe some more) by the above savings, but if we’re talking budgets then we ought to consider all factors.

Wouldn’t be that down on the loan signing. The record for permanent signings in Jan is terrible. If this lads useless (I’m sure he’s not) at least he’s only here till summer. Clayton, Agard Griffths etc are still here not contributing much.

Why does it matter if they're a loanee or not? How does it have any bearing on their ability?

Does it tell you something if fans are to an extent mourning our right back leaving for another club, does it say a lot about the talent we have in our squad if we are squabbling over which is essentially a right back. Not a striker, midfielder but a right back.

When we was in the period 2006-2013 you could of had players in multiple positions that would have an effect of course but we still had quality players on the pitch i.e. when we lost Mills, Wellens we still had players like Stock, Oster, Sharp etc

Isn't it Coppinger bringing players in? I thought that was the whole idea of a Director of Football - to identify and recruit players 'to play the Doncaster way' so that it's irrelevant who the head coach/manager is for when they leave/get sacked?

I’d be shocked if we made a permanent signing this month I do doubt the intention to give the manager the tools to mount a playoff push.
