A property developer, that doesn’t sound too good

They will be homeless in no time at all.

Maybe they will be ground sharing with either Grimsby, Lincoln or US next season.

Keep them that side of the border please

After all they always sing " always s**t on the North side of the Bridge" which I took to mean Yorkshire.

So they won't want / need to come here surely ?

I really hope they survive but a good 25 years in the NL or lower before getting back in the League would be welcome

I always had it as Hull myself given the Bridge reference

Don't think always s**t on the West Side of the (Trent) bridge would work for Yorkshire

Seriously when you look there are around 25 ex League Clubs down "there" and as we found it was so difficult to return , so 25 years is possible

Who has done the longest I wonder in the modern era

I don't really count Gateshead but probably should and Bradford PA are another.

Better phrase it which team relegated (as opposed to failed to get re elected) have been Level 4 of the pyramid for the longest time

Looks like Kidderminster to me. Relegated in 04/05 and haven’t been back up since. After them is Boston Utd.

Of those relegated from the League since 1986-87 (when automatic relegation started) and have finally clawed their way back I think Newport (Relegated in 1987-88, promoted back in 2012-13) have taken the longest.

Scunthorpe are due a bit of good luck, I hope the new owners work out for them. As much as they are rivals I would rather they were in our league, it would be a decent crowd for both games.

Bradford Park Avenue never returned nor have Southport and Workington all clubs that were relegated because they were not re elected under the old system.
Bradford PA the longest of that group of teams 1970/71 their last season in the Football League I think.
Barrow though now back as you say CLH so the longest period of all teams in non league who have retuned.

Gateshead though out even longer. Early 60’s

Halifax have been absent for far too long.

It's taken some clubs some time to return Inc Luton, who I believe are now the highest placed club to return from the Conference. Aldershot, Grimsby, Lincoln, Stockport to name a few all took perhaps longer than expected to return whilst Notts County, Chesterfield, Wrexham, Chester,  are still trying. .

I think it would be fair to sat the National League is more competitive now than our four seasons there and it still took the introduction of the play offs for second spot to give us our lifeline. Without that, who knows how much longer we would have stayed there!

New Brighton failed to be re-elected (1951) as did Gainsborough Trinity although it was a lot earlier in their case

Read all about it:
https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/Scunthorpe-united-takeover-complete-david-8072412

Some of the clubs listed above went out of business, and needed to be reformed, so are not really a seamless continuation of the previous club.
