Australia Day

Syd, what’s the general vibe over there? Few Aussies at my club are celebrating hard tonight but one says it’s wrong?

That is glorifies an invasion and subsequent suppression of indigenous people and culture

That's fair comment, calling it Australia Day is commemorating the the subjugation of native people who suffered massacres and killings and were pushed off their lands by far superior forces and new land holders.

And I guess that only 1 person among those that were there shows how big the task is for Aborigines to gain respect in their own country.

Just a thought Ldr, next time you get the team together try telling them what happens over here is none of their concern as they are not 'we' or 'our' they are not one of us.

As you wish, note that’s not what I said to you, mind, thought someone with your level of intelligence would have understood that

It really isn’t though is it? You’re not in the country, you’re not having to face the day by day shite forced on us by this government and their corrupt policies, you have the luxury of sniping from the sidelines. That’s what I mean be you are not “we”

For clarity you are one of the posters on here who’s opinion I enjoy reading, May not agree a lot of the time but I value it

A few Aussies?

Is there an unusual amount of Aussies down your way?

It's a funny world innit, merrily the forum trundles along ......... until ........ there's some sort of offence committed the then the personal shit comes to the fore, who do you think you are to tell me what I should say or think Ldr? if you really think I'm sniping at you at least have the bottle to say so and get it out. If you think I'm sniping at the government and the tory party you're spot on, but at least it's what I believe to be fact until I'm shown it's not.

No worries, just thought it was strange to have a few Aussies in a club, I don’t think I’ve ever met an Aussie in a club lol!
