Excellent when he came on, other CB’s should take note, he should have started

100% agree, thought he was immense - confident and strong - should start next game for sure.

I’ve been a big defender of Williams but that first half he was awful much better in second half but miles behind  Olowu

The only reason and explanation I can see for him not getting back in the side until Rowes injury, is because of the contract situation. What else can be keeping him out of the team? It’s definitely not RSW and TA, that’s for sure. Although Tom had a better game tonight.

Anyway, good performance Joe. Hopefully see you in the starting line more now.

Class from big Joe tonight. Got a broken face and he's still throwing his head at it. What a man.

Game changer imo. I wouldn’t be surprised if he relights our season. Very respectful of the fans and top class player!! Well done Joe

Totally agree with all above,  class apart
However Mitchell saved a few unnoticed
Miller ran forever but midfield is by passed in possession and scary cats without

Very difficult to see why he is on the bench.
It's not like the other defenders have been in top form, is it?

He’s the only player we should offer a new contract to. No doubt we’ll dick about though, leave it too late or offer peanuts, and he’ll go to a rival. Prove me wrong Rovers.

He has good potential. He needs to start very soon. If he wants three at the back put him in instead of Rowe. Rowe needs to be in midfield, wasted at the back unless you want to play a sweeper system with him bringing the ball out.

I agree about the contract situation, he is by far our best defender, he brought a confidence to the bAck like when he came on what we had been lacking all season!

Offer him what he wants and if he starts playing we may just get some consistency going for the end of season push

Agree he needs to be offered what he wants to say, could build a team around him. Unfortunately can’t see that happening and thing he will leave.

He’s far from a complete player but has a really high ceiling. Has to be starting games or we will lose him for nothing.

We need to renew his contract, our biggest asset IMHO.

I assumed it was down to Injury recovery but Rowe has also been in the same boat. I’d be going mad if I was Olowu firstly seeing Williams in the team ahead of me then seeing Rowe there,

If fit back 3 on Saturday should be Nelson Anderson and Olowu

Thought Mitchell played very well last night, did all the basics correctly (coming for crosses, positioning etc) and also pulled off some cracking saves the one he tipped onto the bar second half being the stand out one.

This would be a big boost. We’re not going up this season but he would be a great foundation to build on for next season!

Sounds like Bobby is kicking on nicely as well. They would be a nicely balanced partnership. Both quick as well.

I’d be a massive fan of signing him up on a 3y deal, problem is, has he already made it clear he doesn’t intend to sign any deal? Bye why he isn’t starting?

Personally I believe we should be building around him and making him one of the main men at the club.

Great to see him back, slotted in with ease, surely has to start on Saturday.

Is the comment re not signing a deal just your speculation or based on something reported?

Just speculation, but seems sound logic. I can’t see any other reason for DS to not start him. Especially over Williams

Genuinely think he'll let his contract run down. He will get in a league 1 team.

I’d be genuinely gutted if this happened but probably the most likely scenario.
