Definitely needs to be one of our main targets to get signed up - build a defence around him

I’ll say it again, we need to get Joseph tied down, he could be a club legend and a very valuable asset

I dont know the rest of the league but he has to be one of the best. We have missed his athleticism dearly all season. He single handedly gives us half a chance of keeping a clean sheet.

I said this very early into his career. Need to be locking down these lads early on long contracts.

I wouldn't be surprised if his contract was already sorted.

I had a chat with him when he delivered my season ticket, he comes across as a very humble guy, grateful to be playing pro football

What a player! He’s changed our season imo.
There’s no coincidence that we look so much better since Joe has returned! Thanks Joe

I love Olowu but the improvement in solidarity at the back started before he returned (Mansfield aside, although 4 goals flattered them).

MOTM easy.
I get the feeling there isn’t any panic about his contract and he will sign.

I think the addition of Lakin, Nelson and Brown have had more impact, but not to take any praise from Joe, he did ok tonight, but struggled against the big 26, but did enough to put him off.

Brown looks a very good player at this level. Both defensively and attacking, he looks easily the match of Knoyle.

Exceptionally good tonight, what a player. Fit, fast, fearless, intelligent.

I thought he was immense tonight. Solid, dependable and intelligent in distribution. I just pray he keeps fit because he makes such a huge difference to the side.

Lakin and brown have made a massive difference, we’ve not had a player like Lakin that gets about the pitch, harasses centre halves, wins loose balls in the middle of the park, for a long time.
Brown is much better defensively than knoyle too

Olowu has made us much more better defensively.
It no co incidence we have kept 3 consecutive clean sheets.

Brown & Lakin been very good signings.

Kyle who. Never heard of him. There is only one Kyle and his sir name is Hurst.

Said it before I couldn’t understand the meltdown by some when Knoyle left us. He was far from indispensable, and Brown is far more solid than him at the back.

The stats Copps presented to us last night proves that.

I was one who rated Knoyle highly at this level but wasn’t too annoyed when he left because he made it clear to Copps that he wanted to leave so rather us get some money for him even if it is small.

Brown has been an excellent replacement and was a great ball in for the goal tonight. Hopefully we make him and Lakins loans permanent in the summer.

Massive credit has to go to Copps and Schofield for the business done in the window, both in and out.

In the latest article from DFP Olowu is one of the priorities to extend his contract. Let’s hope we can get this done.

Got to be a three or four year contract, he’s that good, he’ll be worth some serious sell on

I bet he's a priority for a few other clubs too. I hope he's not good mates with Kyle Knowle.

Hopefully with Copps in charge of contracts and everything now we will be better at dealing with contracts and offering the right players the right length etc. I would be giving Olowu and Hurst new 3 year deals as them 2 are our best assets. Faulkner I’d probs be looking at giving a 2/3 year deal aswell.

I haven't seen the stats but in defence of Knoyle those stats of his would have been in a relegation bound side I assume?

I doubt it. I expect him to keep his options open unless Copps can pull one out of the hat with an improved contract of good length that tempts him but, I guess his agent will have a big say on matters.

If we get promoted we might stand a chance if the offer remains on the table up to the summer.

If we do manage to re-sign him, then it will be a big step forward.

I'd also include maxwell in the list of best assets. Getting better with each game and is chipping in with some goals. His defensive side of his game appears to be getting better also.

Jon Taylor’s time since signing a 3 year deal makes me weary of offering those terms although I can see the benefit. 2 years would still give us time and let’s face it we could have them on 10 year deals and they’d not stay if they wanted out.

Yh I’d agree tbf, didn’t think about him lol, playing very well since playing as a wing back.

Agree with this. He came here to get game time and give himself a platform to move on. If he does well for rest of the season, the only hope we would have of getting him to sign again is promotion, and that is clearly nowhere near certain. He's probably going to leave I suspect. It's not just a matter of us giving him the offer. Far from it.
