Jon Taylor’s time since signing a 3 year deal makes me weary of offering those terms although I can see the benefit. 2 years would still give us time and let’s face it we could have them on 10 year deals and they’d not stay if they wanted out.

Taylor has no resale value

No one has any resale value if they’ve been injured for 2 years

We don't need every player to have a resale value, it's just a shame that injuries have prevented us gaining value from Taylor on the pitch.

Thought I'd bump this up.

It seems to have gone quiet... I imagine Joseph will be leaving us in the summer? Thoughts?

No way he'll be staying.
The club won't pay him the wages he deserves.
He'll leave for free. And have a brilliant career and it will just be another failure of the club to add to the bible of failures we already have.

He got bullied by Cook yesterday. Wasn’t surprised when he was taken off.

Purely tactical, DS finally realised we didn't need 3 at the back marking one attacker.

And he was on a yellow, the obvious choice to sub off.

He got booked for what seemed at the time like a decent tackle. Maybe I'm wrong?

It only took 80 minutes.

He’s still good enough to offer a new contract too, whether he accepts it is another thing. Still got a lot to learn but has potential.

Looked a good tackle to me too.

Some inconsistentcy from the officials yesterday. Anderson should probably have picked up a yellow for one tackle, and the lino on the West side had trouble making decisions all game.

We thought it was a good tackle as well.

Yes it was a clean tackle so was Nelson’s which gave Bradford a free kick just before they scored. Linesman that side gave it but was hopeless. Gave so many blatant throw ins the wrong was for both sides

I did hear Saturday that a new contract has been agreed, but we will wait and see. Not his best game Saturday but didnt deserve his yellow.

Be elated and surprised in equal measure if this is true.

Heard this all before about “agreed in principle” I imagine players in these positions rightly leave their options open for as long as possible - unless they are happy and sure about a club.

The above article amused me - doesnt take much! Half way down, as with all these tedious newspaper articles there is an add requesting subscription to the Donkey Sanctuary! Bit harsh on Olowu …….but not the rest

Is it just me that thought his answer was far less committal than the headline/sub-headline made it sound? The way I read it is, yes he's committed to the club for the rest of the season, but beyond that he wouldn't really be drawn on it. "I leave these things to my agent" is usually another way of saying "I'll keep my options open and get the best deal I can".

Spot on, Pib. That's exactly how I read it.

I doubt he'll be here next season.

It would be a great shame if he did move on without the club doing its best to keep him, it did sound like he's open to better offers and no doubt his agent will be trawling the leagues for one.

I'd say himself, like Hurst could benefit massively from another season with a club like us at this level, he's still really to find his feet in pro football and his potential is no where near realised, another season honing his skills with a club like us would benefit him massively in his future which i'm thinking will be a pretty decent one as he also progresses up the football pyramid.

Olowu has reposted Drfc announcing Hurst contract on to his Instagram story. I don’t think he’d do that if he wasn’t signing himself.

He has to be the next priority, in front of any other out of contract player, but it seems Mitchell is next up!

I’m sure we don’t negotiate one at a time. Talks will be ongoing with Olowu as well as others.
