Fantastic performance
« on February 11, 2023, 07:16:16 pm by wilts rover »
Must admit I had been fearing the worst today, working with a load of Swindon fans and up against a team who had scored 8 goals in their 2 previous home games and wanting a win for the new manager on his home debut.

But what a great performance that was from all the team. The scoreline doesn't really do us justice, it should really have been 3 or 4 from the chances we had. I can only remember Mitchell having to make one save, the long range effort in the 1st half. Other than the free kick which hit the bar he was hardly troubled.

They defended properly as a whole unit, wide forwards and wing backs getting back into position as they should do. Then breaking forward to catch them out.

Special praise to all the fans would made the trip down. Who would have thought people would have gone away singing 'Super Danny Schofield' after reading this forum all week. Well done all.

Add to that the fact that they had 2 top quality players in Williams and Austin, playing in front of a big crowd, and I also thought we'd get a right pumping. How wrong I was.

Just for interest, Wilts, were you there, as it's in your neck of the woods?

I thought Austin could have got a red card for kicking out at Brown, he didn’t even get a yellow

Yes another poor Ref who was intent on giving them everything BUT

.... he didn't stop us winning and OP is correct. It was a superb all round Team.performance from 1 to 11 ss they used to say before squad numbers came along

For me they looked like a full of confidence Team who were on a winning streak.of 6 or 7 games and knew exactly what to do   and ran the show.

Roll on Tuesday COYR

Yes mate. Its about 25 miles from me. Which was a long way home following a service bus doing 40mph for 10 miles!.

And I will be at Sutton next week too all being well. Hoping to see a bit more of what they put on today.

Didn’t make much difference don’t recall him ever getting out of Andersons back pocket
