Should Scofield now tell his players to go down on any contact ?? Anywhere else on the pitch Drysdale gives the free kick, i prefer players to be honest but if referee's are goi g to wave play on then the answer is go down

Just because the player stays on his feet should be no reason to just wave play on Sadly its an age old thing anywhere else on the pitch its a free kick but in the box ...........

It's a disgrace especially with those comments by the fourth official.
There's times when decisions. are made easy for the refs but yet they're still scared of making decisions inside the box

The incident seems to have been in the 14th minute. An attempt was made to tackle Hurst and the defender failed to dispossess him, maybe because Hurst looked as though he might have jumped over the defender”s foot/leg. Robbie, on commentary said “Rovers want a penalty, but Hurst did not go over”. Why he said this was a bit strange because looking at the players, one raised his arms a bit, but not even above his shoulders and no other players seemed to react at all. This suggests that at close range they saw no grounds to “appeal”.
Schofield’s report of the ref’s comments about Hurst “not going down” could be within a wider context, because, as I say, the tackle/attempted tackle did make him fall. If it did not make contact would it be a penalty anyway? Again, why did the players with a good view not really appeal? They cannot normally be criticised for over-reticence in this kind of situation. And they were much closer than DS on the halfway line.
All things considered, “blatant” seems a misnomer.

No have standards and don’t drop to the levels other teams will go to win.
Play the game as it should be honestly. Don’t pressure the referee, just get on with your job.
