That’s brilliant hopefully he has put his injury woes behind him & can rediscover his old form when he was a colossus.

Absolutely unbelievable. Would love to hear the thinking behind that one!

It gives us encouragement that now Big Tom has signed Joseph Olowu will follow shortly.

Must admit, I didn't think he, or Olowu,  would renew at this stage by waiting to keep their options open until the end of the season.

Guessing he’s had no offers then.

I’ve seen the drfc official skit on Instagram, could it be by going to that certain supermarket a slight pi$$ take on the folks who keep mentioning a previous discount supermarket ? It’s only my idea

His form has stabilised somewhat recently.

Just don't put RWS in defense and we look infinitely better.

Oh dear! Surely the whole point is that he hasnt returned to the performance levels before injury! I like him but he is only 50% of the player he was.

I’m not aware of the terms. If his wage reflects that he’s a bit injury prone and a L2 player I don’t mind. If it’s a reward for performances I’m worried

Personally I thought we’d let him go and use his presumably L1 wages be spent getting a replacement

The more I think about it the more I can’t justify it. Copps has had to endure the last few seasons like the rest of us. I can’t condone rewarding anyone whose been involved that long in such a spiral.

Maybe it’s really harsh to say this and I’m been too emotional because he’s a good L2 player when fit. But I want to move on completely from last season so don’t really have much time for anyone from that time.

I suppose one question in favour is would you trust us to sign someone better!

If Williams gets a new deal I’ll lose faith completely

With the right players round him he's great, been good the last few games now for me

Put pace and passers next to him and let him do what he's good at.

Can't see this being the same wage he's on I I imagine 2 and a half years length will have enabled potentially slighter amounts

Didn’t think he’d re-sign tbh. Quite pleased let him do the dirty work with headers with a couple of ball players next to him
Good to see us getting contracts sorted

Great news - he is a good solid pro.  He has had a while out with injuries and maybe isn't the player he was just yet, but I'm sure he will be if he can stay fit.  With him committing, I am hopeful that Olowu will be next.

Need to tie Maxwell, Hurst and Faulkner down to longer deals
With a bit of luck we are working on something for Lakin too

I’m sorry but I find it absolutely unbelievable given his injury problems that we would offer him such a long contract especially with what has happened to Taylor

So is it 2.5 years from now? If so then it’s this season plus 2 more. So could sell with a year left I guess.

He’s not that old, just has an old head on young shoulders. It could be good. If he stays fit now and gets back to his best. Who knows.

He’s spent the best years of his career with us. He’s had ups and downs but overall I like him.

He's been largely a great and committed pro for us and clearly a top lad. It's probably time for us both to make a fresh start though. I'm surprised to see a 2.5 year deal.

Maybe it’s partly to help Olowu sign up for something similar.

Those 2 and the full backs signed up would be good.

He's nearly 30, doubt many will be willing to shell out.

Makes a change from running a contract down and then offering a new contract in the closed season

Does this spell the end before a real beginning for Faulkner at the club? Tom's not a ball playing centre half that Danny's system demands (well 2 of the 3 at least) does this mean Bobby isn't on consideration for the first team next season (or the remainder of this) and will we see him leave?

Dear me
People moan like mad when we let contracts run down, then we sign possibly our most important player on a good contract and people moan again.

Does this refer to my above. Because it's not a complaint about Anderson signing but more of a question what does it mean for Faulkner?

Faulkner is still very young, especially as a centre back. Because he is quick, once he can match Anderson on the ball there’s no reason he can’t be first choice in his mould.

My concerns with Anderson are his fitness and pace for this style. If you remember back to September, everyone on this forum (including me) thought he was ready for the wrecker’s yard. When DS plays him as a wide CB his lack of pace is targeted and is a glaring weakness.

Baffling.
Defensively we've been awful for two seasons. The only reason Anderson would get a two and a half year contract, is if we know we're not going to get anyone better.
He's injury prone and way past his best. In my humble opinion obvs
