Last post until a major change
« on March 27, 2023, 03:43:30 pm by Canadian Rover »
Hey folks,

I've made the choice to not continue in here or on social media until something major changes with the Rovers. I've also decided I'm not going to watch the games (I only watched the Northampton one to watch Liam play really).

It's not the fans grumbles but the general negative energy that is hard to have surround you. It's only football but we all know what Doncaster Rovers means to us individually and collectively and right now I'd say the overall condition of the club weighs heavy on the souls of us all.

Do I think Danny could have been a good coach? Yes he'd likely have been a very good one. But not a good or suitable manager at this time.

I think there is an over reaction in terms of fans wanting a clear out of playing, coaching, head of football and board positions though. These calls are out of frustration and passion.

We have a good club when the energy is right. Looking through the managers we've had there seems to have been a lack of positive energy around (maybe if the manager is a bit dour then the coaching staff should be hugely positive).

I think a huge focus needs to be placed on a reserve team or u23s and I hoped that was happening with Paul Greens role but don't think there is. I hope Copps does have some power and control on his role. I listened to Dappers YouTube interview about the shadow board yesterday and couldn't help but notice that David Blunts name was never mentioned as a person they get contact with nor Copps. Which leads me to think without that then the shadow board is never going to be truly effective.

I'm gonna take a break, not in any conflicts with posters on here and I'll be back hopefully in the near future. Right now I'm not enjoying the football at all.

Hard to disagree with anything above, I used to live for watching football, be that rovers, premier league, Sunday league, at the moment I’m just not enjoying football, I haven’t for a while, I only do it now out of habit.

Hope things change soon!

I get it. I come on here and before I know it I’m all pissed off again at the manager and the situation. I’m not going to put myself through watching it that’s for sure and will hold off committing for next season.

I know you’ve got to follow through the good and bad but the entertainment isn’t there and hasn’t been for a while. DS has made it clear he’s not interested in that and will keep going as he is. Plenty of other things to do on a Saturday now the weather is hopefully turning.

Probably makes me a fair weather fan but I can’t stomach essentially consenting or approving what’s going on right now by spending my time and money on it.

If you read Canadian’s first sentence again, Upton, you’ll realise why he probably will not reply!

Just saying.
