Next year's Season Tickets poll of intention

Given the unhappiness with the club and particularly the manager at this point thought this was an interesting and important question to ask.

The key stat there is that amongst the people who post on here and one would therefore expect to be some of the most engaged with the club, 23% of ST holders won't be renewing.

I bought mine on day one because it only cost me a shade over £200 for me and my oldest lad so a small outlay even if I decide not to bother going to a lot of matches.

I tend to miss a number of games each season with holidays,  I renewed mine because it works out well for me I like my seats location and pricing works out well for an OAP

I've renewed as well, but definitely not as an expression of satisfaction with the current manager / footballing operations. I'm firmly in the 'Schofield out' camp, and I'm really worried about the dwindling attendances, and the lack of experience for younger / newer fans. I remember with fondness for a decade from the mid-00's the amount of Donny shirts I used to see watching kids at training or people out and about in town as we built our fanbase up again. It feels like we're losing the fans again, and that an emptyish stadium and Donny-whites/owls/blades/ManU etc will grow again as we flounder.

That's the key thing for me too, Reg. JR used to get frustrated at the lack of numbers in the Championship but it takes a generation or two to grow a fanbase and we were making huge moves in the right direction. We'll be counting the cost of this current period for many years to come.

I've just renewed mine too. I look at it as renewing my membership to a social Club where I see my mates, have a few pints with the added bonus is there's a turn on. Sometimes the turn is decent, sometimes it isn't.

Joking aside, I think my outlook has changed or mellowed over the years and I don't expect everyone should be the same as me.

Agree with the generational thing and in germs of marketing, the best tools are results and us. People connect with people. Vast majority of people get started cos somebody brought them in the first place.

Currently only 74% OF sth are renewing if DS is still in charge. If this trend continues through out all STH , then the alarm bells should be ringing.

Call me thick but, I can only count 7
who specifically said won't renew due to DS and 15 who aren't renewing for whatever other reasons?

Plus, amongst those who don’t buy a season ticket, there has been absolutely no intention or incentive to get one.

Not had one for a number of years due to work. Next season would be the first in a while I’d actually be able to get a season ticket but I can’t justify it really, when I have been this season it’s been so dull at home. Food awful atmosphere has gone then there’s the actual football.

I'm not currently renewing but would consider it if there was a change in ownership.

I had a season ticket for 20 odd years until the start of this. Didn’t renew due to work and complete and utter apathy/numbness from what I was watching. What this Schofield farce has told me, however, is that I still have fire in my belly and still love the club as it’s making me so angry. So were he to be given the bullet and an experienced chap put in place with adequate backing I would renew in a heartbeat. As it stands, it’s a big big no from me.

As it stands I'm going to renew, probably this week. This is not out of any sort of enthusiasm for what is going on at the club though, far from it. I think big changes are needed and have lost confidence that the current board are willing and/or capable of carrying out those changes.

For me it's more blind loyalty/stupidity really - I can't tear myself away very easily at all, even though I believe we are in for another dismal season next year, and without massive sweeping changes I'm of the belief we will be in the National League within the next 2-3 years.

I’m not, I find the whole experience nowadays  to be awful. Dirty ground, rubbish food/drink, no atmosphere and appalling football. The malaise has gone on too long and I have better things to do with my fairly limited leisure time.

Might be back if things change and it feels like someone cares, but it won’t be for at least one season.

I have previously always been a season ticket holder but with increasing disillusionment, for the last few seasons I have only bought 5 match ticket books.

I bought one at the start of this season and used it before Christmas and Rovers won 4 and drew 1 so I got reasonable value / entertainment for money.

With some optimism, I bought a second book of 5 matches in January and have attended games v Hartlepool, Bradford and Northampton which have been terrible and I am now in the position where I still have to attend two of the last four matches.

I have a Clash - should I stay or should I go?

I bought mine on day one so that the club can see monies coming in asap in order to prepare for next season.

That & because I am RTID.

Just renewed mine and my sons.

This is our club and irrespective of who owns it and what league we are in we will always follow the Rovers!

Am I happy with the current situation..NO, would I like to see a change and more entertaining footie..YES, however our club needs as much support as possible right now & if we as supporters don't give it then nothing can change.

COYR!!

I got mine early.
I want fans in the future to have the same opportunity that. I have had in being able to support their home town team.
Age and distance mean that I have probably seen fewer games this season since watching my first league game in 1958.
I have managed to see us lose at home though in my last six visits.
On the bright side, I won’t be there on Saturday so we might win.

I admire the posters above, and thought that I’d be the same, but it’s just sapping my soul.

I bought a season ticket during covid, I play the club lottery, I buy a bear every year, I buy the kits, I was around when we went down to the conference, I was around when we came back up, I’ve been around for all the promotions and relegations but it just feels different this time. Perhaps it’s the fact that I’m 1/1.5 hrs away now, but it feels deeper.

I need a break and hope the desire comes back, but I just don’t know…

There will be discussion threads in ten or fifteen years time talking about this point in our history and lamenting the short-sightedness of the then owners in allowing the fan-base to erode away.

The big thing about this poll is literally no one has put that they're gonna get one when they didn't have one last season. Were losing season ticket holders and not enticing new ones.

Just been in to the ticket office and renewed this morning and my 10 yr old Grandsons seasons ticket.

£187.55 for mine & 35.00 for a junior ticket.

Now that’s fantastic value for 23 matches.  Or at least it should be fantastic value.
If hasn’t been value for money though this season or indeed last season.
Watching totally uninspiring, boring dross for the 16 of the 19 home league games we have played so far this season does not represent value for money. Even £1 per game would have been too much with the lack of attacking threat we have witnessed.

I can honestly say I only really enjoyed our home games with Stockport County which we won 2-1 against 10 men for almost the entire 2nd half. ( GmS was in charge for that game. )
The game v Stevenage which we played with intent but unluckily lost 0-1
Finally the game v Carlisle on New Year’s Day which we won 2-0

Even the 2 games when we scored 4 goals in v Crawley Town 4-1
( GmS in charge ) & Rochdale 4-3 we were very unconvincing but at least the finishing was clinical.

Away from home only 2 performances stand out as good ones
( although I didn’t go to Swindon Town)  Northampton Town 1-0 win
( again GmS in charge )
The other being Grimsby Town in Nov a 3-1 win

That is a sad indictment on a season in the bottom tier of the EFL
A season that promised so much after 6 games and 14 points. With us only being convincing in 2 of those 6 it promised so much. If you can win 4 & draw 2 not being at your best then that augurs well for the season.

I was for the 1st time ever, considering not renewing unless DS was relieved of his job.

But DRFC are in my blood. My visits to the Eco power are a huge part of my life.
I have been going to football matches for 61 consecutive seasons.
What else am I going to do on a Saturday afternoon and Tuesday evenings.
Even Jeff Stelling won’t be on TV next season as is retiring.

No I couldn’t contemplate going to Harrogate Town instead ( especially as they are rivals being in the same league ) to get some entertainment.
No Rovers are my club. Through thick & thin. Till death do us part.
I am married to them for life as I am my wife.

I just simply could not turn my back on DRFC they are along with Yorks CCC my greatest interests and most important pastimes.

Yes the football is dire, yes the entertainment is almost zero but I am going to be there for when the good times return.
In 1998 we looked doomed. But we were saved and then prospered
The same will happen again. WHEN?  We don’t know.

This is a very proud club with potential and there are some good people at the club and we have some fantastic loyal fans who will never let this Club wither and die.  :that:

Tell you what, with the numbers saying they are not re newing and those that say they won't be going it will be awfully quiet on this Forum.
A good or a bad thing I wonder?
