King's Lynn Town say manager Tommy Widdrington has resigned just a few hrs ago “to take up an alternative post at another club". The identity of which club is under wraps currently. The 51-year-old was appointed in 2021, succeeding Ian Culverhouse, and last summer signed a contract extension to run until next year.

Loads of league exp and I’d have him at rovers. No nonsense combative player. His teams play like this too.
This comes after lynn won today and sit second in their league. We all know about the fa cup earlier this season.
He must be stepping up. I wonder where to? He is bossing it with Lynn.
Wishful thinking?

Rumour on their page is its Aldershot. Nothing on the shots forum about it at all.
Yet he is still under contract, and wherever he is going, that club has made no approach to Kings lynn at all.

We'd have to sack the clown before he came here.
And we don't 'tap up' managers like other clubs do.
Even if he was sacked tonight, we wouldn't have anyone in before the end of the season

Is the club more likely to save any change of manager  until after the last game of the season, as we’re not going to dragged into a relegation fight ?

If the Lynn forum is to believed, Widdrington has himself been approaching other clubs.

It would be a big departure from the style of football Copps wants us to play. At least judging by our signings. Reality is he’d no doubt be better than what we have and that style is closer to what is needed. But I don’t think the club will acknowledge it and certainly won’t make a proactive move to sort it out

A sign of my desperation.
Widdrington is exactly what rovers needs now.
f**k the process.

Having seen the FACup game when Kings Lynne beat us I would be more than happy for us to play the way they did that day.
We were lucky to keep the score down to one nil.

Speaking of non league, Thorne Collierys game was abandoned yesterday after Ref went bonkers and sinbinned 4 players and redcarded 1 on 28mins seemingly for reasons best known to him

Proof you don't need that much 'pull' to get a half decent manager.

There are worse out there, but I’m not sure we can afford him with having 2 other managers being paid off at the same time. If only we hadn’t to sack 2 other managers!

Interesting to see how shot get on next season with him at the helm.
I expect an upturn in results.

I follow Harworth Colliery regularly and we’ve had the same ref on two occasions that I can think of. He’s an absolute nutcase.

First game at Cantley Park playing Bessacarr he gave a free kick that was at least a yard inside the penalty area. He threatened to kick one of the Harworth followers out of the park for protesting about the decision.

On the second occasion he refereed our reserves and threatened to call the game off as he wanted to use his own flags not the ones that the club had provided.

I don’t know whether this rule has been changed but some years ago it would have been possible for a free kick to be given inside the penalty area to an attacking team if the ref deemed an offence to be obstruction.
It would be an indirect free kick.
I did see it awarded just the one time.
Perhaps that is what the ref decided at the Harworth game.

Not 100% sure but I think it was for a trip when the Harworth striker was running into the area. It was as clear a penalty as you will see. I’m sure you are right as well that you can have an indirect free kick inside the penalty area.

Greeny played for him regularly in Crewe’s 19/20 promotion season.

Well if it was for a trip then it should be a penalty.
