Louis Tomlinson and JR were going to buy the club. Yesterday’s statement was a great PR stunt by the club to improve communications to the Club membership in the form of season tickets utilizing various media. Increase the visibility of the Club to the community through news releases,What we are all missing was that also in the statement was the words following a board meeting earlier in the week. Yes it was good for Terry Bramall to say that he and he alone will provide a major cash injection of funds into the playing budget, So we have all missed the fact that no one else around that table at the board meeting we’re not interested in them contributing extra funds to the playing budget. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall, or better still let the board publish the minutes of last weeks meeting.
They obviously either read the posts on here or are kept up to date with the posts on here.
It’s a publicity stunt that seems to have worked on quite a few fans on here, Just a few days ago there were 167 people who voted for the sacking of DS, how many have changed their minds now? We get one statement from 1 man, not the club, and all is rosey.
It’s really good for Terry to say and do what He’s said he will do, however the timing is wrong and it says that the board is divided on such cash injections, and proves that some on the board don’t care, let’s go into next season with a new Manager/1st team coach so that the funds can be used in the correct way, let’s not be fooled that DS can bring in the players to get us back into L1 because he can’t
I think the majority of fans will welcome TB statement however I believe the majority of fans who want rid of DS will still want rid of him.
The sayings damned if yo do, damned if you don't & the proof is in the pudding are appropriate for the reaction to yesterday's statement.
Upton you do come across as having an inherent grudge against the board that no matter what they do you will still find fault! Let's just settle down and see what arises in the next couple of months.
I feel that DS and even maybe JC are on notice from TB and DS may well be gone at the end of the season.
I don’t have a grudge against the board, I do have a grudge how the club is been run at the present moment, and it’s only fans unrest that caused TB to act and that alone, if we all agreed that the past 2 seasons have been wonderful then nothing would be done, it’s hard to see not only your team lose week in week out, it’s in the manner it’s happening with shocking formations and team selections backed by lacklustre performances from a team that either doesn’t want to be bothered or like most fans don’t agree that DS is up to the role.
It's only fans unrest?
If you think for one minute that was the case you really are deluded

Read the post, there again calling fellow fans , no matter what, you will pull up negative posts and think you know everything about how a football club should be run and how a coach is good when clearly he’s not, so who’s deluded ? Not me Mr right

There is one saving grace in football, and that is win four games on the trot and the same people wanting people sacked will be willing to kiss their backside, it's just the way it is and has been, the noisiest are nearly always the ones easiest turned when things go right, because it's what they feed off.

Yes, of course TB was completely oblivious to the situation until people like you told him all about it! :silly:

No not really!
Our owner has come out gave a lengthy statement and it concluded by him pledging us significant funds for next season, but folk like you who don’t like the board are now thinking oh shit what can we moan about now.
So you try and turn it into something you can still moan about
It’s absolutely ridiculous

I think people are sceptical given the previous hyperbolic statements the board of made; let’s see what next season brings.

It always amazes me that the same few posters all decide to post the same thing over and over again on different threads.
Do they think if they say things often enough it will brainwash people into agreeing with their ridiculous opinions
Deluded

Oh the irony…

We have 1 coming out pledging cash, that’s good news, and another coming out saying we are keeping DS for next season, 2 good reasons to look forward too

I've been on holiday so not sure what I've missed that has encouraged the more positive comments on these threads. Extra investment would be great, and if there's more than just spin and PR to the statement then great. BUT, that money is still being spent by the most incompetent manager we've had, who'll be sticking to the awful unwatchable 5-5-0, and therefore just a waste of investment. He's dreadful and needs to go. The only investment we needed was a few more quid for a increase in manager salary to get someone decent in. Same rubbish again today - were we slightly less atrocious than in previous games - probably, was it good enough - no, it was dull, uninspiring, turgid, unwatchable football. Investment or not, the fact that our head of football and Directors / owners can't see that destroys their credibility. I don't want to sack the board, or get rid of directors or investors - but this decision - to keep this atrocious embarrassment of a manager who is sucking the soul out of the this team - is indefensible.

No not at you, but if you read the post I said it was great for the club , what’s not great is having DS in charge next season
