Privitisation
« on July 07, 2023, 01:26:20 pm by roverstillidie91 »
See there's this debate that the NHS which is 75 years old may not make its 100th birthday.

I went to the DRI last night about a back problem and I was there from 10 until 07:30 this morning.

Clearly there is a problem with the NHS, but the tories and media are making you believe it is because of the service itself but its because inevitably they want to privatise it.

So do people believe that ALL public services be brought back into public hands? Look at what's happened with Thames Water.

Clearly failed....

Bringing utilities into public hands isn't privatisation, it's nationalisation.

Its a no brainer, as most people are in favour, even Tory voters:

Unfortunately, Keith can't see it as he has no brains.
Please lets accept the idea that public service comes first, and that will never be the case where shareholders are draining the system.

The whole experiment has been a total disaster, and stop it now before it disintegrates completely.

Some yes, some no.  Applying yes or no to all is not the right answer.

Where's the point in things like the national grid or water being privatised?  There's no competition it's pointless and you can't have 10 sets of different cables in a street.

Things like providing electricity to the consumer or train services, absolutely, that competition can be good for the consumer and keeping prices low.

Pud,

"Things like providing electricity to the consumer or train services, absolutely, that competition can be good for the consumer and keeping prices low."

Both very poor examples in my view.
Prices have NOT been kept low for either electricity or train fares....we have much higher charges than other comparable countries in Europe, and very much higher than under public ownership in the UK previously.

Do you have any better examples to show your point?

Yes, Albie, and regarding the rail service, disgusting performance as well, with record amounts of delays and cancellations.

We expect opposition to public ownership from the Tories, but what the f*ck is Keith playing at?

Just wait until we are like America and we are being asked to get our credit card out to get treatment out at the local A& E.

It's coming..

The majority of European countries are somewhere between us and USA. It’s not one extreme or the other.

What services at DRI the other day for you were private?

Hope your back is doing better btw
