Nice deflection by George for the second.
Strikers always claim those.

Didn't show Lawlor's 2 fantastic saves. Shame.

Some comical defending in those highlights, admittedly. But seeing us have players in actually in the opposing half and able to take advantage of it for the first time in 2 years is a properly alien experience.

That pass by broadbent for miller in the first half was outstanding. Deserved to be scored just for that.

Broadbent was fantastic last night, he has a real eye for a pass others wouldn’t try.

I hope that this win and performance floods the team with confidence. In Grants words, no point doing tonight and not Saturday- the league is far more important to us.

That’s encouraging, thought he showed a couple of nice touches at the weekend but the game largely passed him by.

Longer highlights from Hull City, including the Lawlor saves, and different angles;

The Hull commentator must have been listening to the Kinks or Barry Manilow pre match

I thought the same.

Ready made song for the guy, nice and catchy chorus too.

Its a good coverage, SS.

I reckon Rovers could up their game on the video front, but I don't know the cost involved.

wow. Thanks for the link. I didn’t go. We obviously played well, but we’re Hull like that for the full 90? Ie slow?
Is Rosenior from the process cult? If so, they’re going down big style. That lad could’ve been describing us from last season. I pitty them, because it’s bloody awful.

.

Helped by the fact that Miller likes to run  in behind defenders which doesn’t appear to be the way Ironside plays.
If we have passes played behind defenders like that then Miller is the man to cash in on them.

The manager has to find a way, of playing them both up front. I would play three at the back and look to play to the strengths of what we have. We have a few players that can take a man on. We have three good centre halves in Wood/Anderson and Olowu.

Put Bailey in front of them and let the likes of Roberts, Sotona or Molyneux, whichever he picks, go at the opposition. Play a natural full back one side and one of the three mentioned on the other. There is potential in the side to score goals, let them off the leash a bit.

We saw last season the perils of playing 3 at the back at this level with the players we have

Pitchside cameras are used by some clubs - like Harrogate, but I suspect that the iFollow contract with the EFL restricts what clubs can put out. They must own the rights to full-match replay and the extended highlights - which incidentally were rather sparse on the action. There were too many replays and a lot of off-pitch shots which are of no interest whatsoever. We don’t want cinematic art!

We've still got the centre backs with just the addition of Woods

Not all the same then.. differences in midfield ahead of them too..

Regardless of the system, we have to be better than last season!

I don’t know, that’s what the manager gets the big bucks for..  I’ll reserve judgement until a few matches in and a few combinations have been tried or settled..

I’m not exactly for a back 3 but the problem as much as anything that we never had anything up front so the 3 becomes a 5. We a manager with some balls and better players it could work.

That said what’s wrong with a 442.
