It’s a genuine mystery. McCann is a very good manager for this level and we’ve turned over the squad, seemingly spending decent money to do this.

Who have we spent money on? We have signed a lot of players from clubs lower down the pyramid who will be happy to increase their wages slightly and have a crack at the football league. It’s ok signing 12 players but none of them apart from Ironside, Wood and maybe Sterry will be on competitive wages even for league two.

If you were being generous you could say that injuries forced us to go 3 at back, and trusting Sotana to be a right wing back was always going to be a disaster, as the first goal proved. Video failed for second goal but appeared to be us getting out jumped from set piece, which is poor.
