Defence Secretary
« on August 31, 2023, 10:14:15 am by BillyStubbsTears »
God help us. Grant Shapps.

Its bad enough that he's a liar and a fraud who tried to bankrupt a person who smoked him out.

This is the FIFTH different Cabinet job he's had in less than a year, including Home Secretary for 6 days.

This isn't government. It's musical chairs.

Yes,

I get the feeling this government is just marking time now. I don't know why they don't just call an election and get it over with.

Because every ruling political party imagines that something will come up that will give them a chance of winning before time runs out. And they genuinely believe it is in the nation's interests for them to stay in power.

I see they've fallen out with the RSPB now.

Upset that they called them liars when actually it's mostly half truths and misdirection they've been offering regarding their commitment to environmental standards.

He didn't lie he said , he was just guilty of over firmly denying the charges against him

Of all the slimy 2 faced b*****s in politics this prat and what rhymes with it is horrendous.

Stupid enough to interfere in a by election by trolling Lib Dem candidate but not realising he was doing it on.his home PC.

Don't worry we can all sleep soundly knowing he's in charge of defending us - a man who appears on Telly with his book showing Grant Shapps there to remind the lying c*** who he is

He's only been given £20k tax free so far by "Richie". It seems that every change as a Minister "earns" a £5k tax free payment in Schnapps case 1 for every identity.Looking after your friends might spring to mind
Also any pension is based on the highest rated job they take, if they could perhaps the Tories would change PM at every opportunity?

For the record, I've been impressed with Wallace as Defence Secretary. He's a loss to the Government.

He retired as he got stabbed in the back by Macro for the NATO job.

Why is that relevant to him resigning as UK Secretary of State for Defence?

Bit naive to think that they believe they should be in charge for the benefit of the country. They only care about themselves and what they can scam out of the system.

Aye. I'm sure that's what got Gordon Brown out of bed every morning through the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

He announced he was retiring the day after the French did his legs.

What does Sunak want the UK to be?

What his ambition?

Thatcher, loathe her or hate her. She had an idea in her head. And for some as she made things better.

I don't think things are improving for anyone now. Maybe the very rich.

I wonder if Shapps has been brought in to swing the defence version of Beeching Axe, he seems to be good at that sort of thing!

I've been saying for a while. The Tory party has absolutely no idea what philosophy they want to guide their politics. And they have driven away the thinkers. Everything is ruled by the cult of Culture War, of which Brexit was the first big battle. Drive wedges between different groups of society, and hope that when things break, enough support falls on your side.

They are 25 years behind the Republicans, but that's where they are heading.

Shapps is the very epitome of main stream media ignoring the well documented problems of an individual , who , in the past would have been justifiably exposed

Look at how careers have been destroyed by msm in the not too distant past most justifiably but yet here is a bloke who has courted controversy , been exposed and yet they (msm) who should be bringing these issues before the public simply look the other way

I wish someone had access to his rap sheet because it is extensive and shows him up for exactly what he is and by implication why he should be nowhere near MOD job imo

This is only half of the Michael Green affair. To this day I have never found out the fate of the Constituent , and whether he went busy or simply returned his life to normal

He must have been outraged having to apologise to Shapps publicly while they both knew who was the liar
