Free Breakfast for Fletcher MP
« on December 12, 2023, 08:41:23 am by Donnywolf »
Sunak offering a good feast to the dissident luminaries in his Party this morning

Gullis , Francois , 30p Anderson and the rest filing out of  No 10 and trotting along in single file it looked like the only Tory MP I've ever had to endure Fletcher MP

Fletcher got a tip off that someone would be there with a camera, he’s too thick to know why he is there, the photo op couldn’t be resisted

So Rishi Sunak, who promised to always take "long term decisions for a brighter future" has managed to stake the future of the country on the outcome of a bacon sandwich meeting with Jonathan Gullis

I really don't understand Sunak.

Doesn't he see the obvious? The more he feeds the Tory far right tiger, the more it wants to eat. They don't WANT to be satisfied. They want to keep pulling the party further to the batshit right.

Sunak is gone in 12 months. A political career ended. He could do the Tory party the service it needs by calling out these MPs for what they are, and let the process begin of re-establishing the Tories as a mature, intelligent, evidence-led party. He'd go down in history for that. But he hasn't got the balls or the vision to do it. So he's going to feed the tiger even more.

It’s really simple for him, while they are munching on their bacon sandwiches he says back me or there’s a snap election and some of you won’t be in a job, if not all of you

Pub quiz question in 2030:

"Who were Lee Anderson, Miriam Cates and Jonathan Gullis?"

Blank faces and no ideas all round.

Clue: "Blank faces and no ideas all round".

Seriously. 12 months and these non-entities will have had their time stirring up xenophobic shit in working class areas and we'll never have to hear from them again.

Had to laugh at the briefing going on about this breakfast. Apparently it was smoked salmon and pastries, then presumably one of them realised that doesn't fit with what they think red wall voters like, so they've now briefed out that they actually all had bacon butties instead.

Just the worst, most unserious people.

This is how utterly anchorless this Government is.

There are vital climate change negotiations going on in UAE.

Our Energy minister is there, as he should be.

Except...no he isn't. He's currently on a plane flying back so he can be lobby fodder tonight.

Sunak needs his vote in a debate over a policy that will never work, and even if it did, would not solve the problem it is supposed to address.

Our minister is leaving globally vital talks, to try to help Sunak not lose face by losing this pointless vote.

They're going to be out of a job in months anyway so that's not much of a threat.

There was a woman caller called Caroline on Nicky Campbell phone in this morning.
She eloquently ripped the Rwanda plan and the Tories incompetence with immigration to pieces.
Her contribution was brilliant.
Campbell was speechless with the effect it had.
Should be recorded and played back to Sunak et al.

Having a summit in person is a farce given the subject, could be done online

As someone who does a lot of online meetings, I very much disagree with this. Online meetings just don't recreate the subtleties of face to face ones. Little things, but very important ones like chance 1-2-1 discussions over coffee, or passing on a non-verbal communication to one specific person, like rolling your eyes in response to what someone else has said, but doing in in a way that only the intended recipient gets it. These things are vital parts of human communication, and the more important and difficult the topic, the more vital they are. Online meetings are fine for handle turning decision making, but very much second best for anything else.

And guess who's just popped in to the Commons

Peter Bone MP alleged to have exposed himself to an Aide young enough to be his Grandson or Grandaughter

He was banned from HOC for 6 weeks and his constituents are deciding whether to "recall him

Fancy talk for forcing a new Bye Election

Such is the desperation of the Prime Miniature ( the grinning Sunak) Bone has been brought in to Vote tonight

Oh well we know there is no depths to which they won't sink

Rosie is also the Deputy Speaker of the HOC, and at the moment is overseeing the Rwanda debate.

I've met her. She's a nice woman.

Fletcher hopefully will be under pressure EVEN after they have redrawn the Don Valley Constituency boundaries to include some of the Isle of Axholme ( not sure which bits ) to add lots of potential Conservative voters

Even that shouldn't save him .

Sorry , I know it's politics and I won't change anyone's mind , no more than they will change mine but I hope he gets battered and loses his deposit BUT of course the new rules have enhanced lots of the " compensation package"  facets so I don't suppose he will suffer too much financially

I saw bits of what he said in parliament today. He has a point in some ways even if we don't all want to admit it.

Not many on here would admit to saying they thought he had a point.
Even if they did secretly think he had.

What Fletcher is doing there is what fascists have always done.

His party has cut real terms health spending. He blames The Other for problems with hospitals.

His party has cut real terms education spending. He blames The Other for schools' problems.

His party has utterly failed to see enough houses built in the country. He blames The Other for the running down of housing.

Fletcher himself of course is so f**king dense that light bends round him, so he probably doesn't even realise what he's doing. But there you have an out and out racist/fascist speaking in Parliament and representing Donny.

He's a Kitson and an embarrassment to the city. Spinning some yarn about Donny becoming a mad max style wasteland because an immigrant family moves in next door. A&E full because nobody in DRI speaks English? It's embarrassing.

His speech was pretty naked racism, plain and simple. National Front, Combat 18 stuff. It's f**king racist.

Really? You'd be scared to let your kids play outside because a foreign family moved in next door? You think A&E gets full because none of the doctors speak English?

Which bit of his nonsensical, rambling racist speech, that was based on an obvious fantasy, did you find yourself agreeing with?

He's getting a right pasting on X twitter.
Somebody has posted a poll on there that shows he's got 3% chance of holding Don Valley.
Kin hope so, and he can get back to the stone he crawled from under.
