Tomorrows key fixtures

With any talk of top seven a distant memory we have to look at the key bottom of table clashes tomorrow, with one eye very firmly looking over our shoulder. Rovers only have to better those below them to stay safe, but tomorrow is not looking like it’s going to be one of those days, again.

FGR go to Swindon in what should be a home win. But Swindon have had a rubbish December with losses against wimbledon, barrow, tranmere and Wrexham. Surely tomorrow will produce their first points for this month. And I for one hope they do. An away win would not surprise me though.

Sutton go to gillingham, who started their December with a good fa cup win against Charlton, but then lost to Bradford, drew against FGR and then lost to Crawley. Sutton started dec with their fa cup victory over Horsham. Then got drubbed 8 at Stockport, beat by Mansfield before their shock away win at Wimbledon on Boxing Day. A game that could go either way for sure.

Colchester travel to wimbledon who will surely be looking to make amends for losing to the bottom club. Colchester only have three points to their name for the month of December. Home win surely?

Salford host the cod heads. Hot on the heels of a home pasting at the hands of tranmere , and with just a single point in December , there could be sufficient fire in their belly for a turnaround against a Grimsby side who have claimed 4 points in dec. home win for me.

My overall prediction is rovers to drop a place to 21st with what will be a certain defeat at Mansfield. Salford to beat cod heads and one of the bottom two will get three points. Meaning rovers will be just 4 or 5 points from the drop zone with 24 points from 24 games. 1ppg. 46 points season average. Squeaky bum time at the half way point.

Realistic, frightening, not hard to believe though after what has happened around the club in the last few years.

Well , pleased to report my prediction fell somewhat short thankfully. A wonderful unexpected point . Salford and fgr beat . And Colchester too. Gotta love footy.

Sutton United lost as well and had a player sent off.
