And, whatever you think of the level Carty has played at, it's not his very first taste of senior football. Plus, hopefully, he should have fitness levels resembling a pro footballer, not a competition winner like Cukur.

Cukur’s on loan in the Belgian second tier.

16 appearances, can anybody guess how many goals?

There needs to be a criminal investigation in to his £1.5 million Fenerbache transfer. Capped for Turkey too.

Just been chatting to a Bolton fan in my office who says that Carty is a decent player, makes a nuisance of himself and is a good finisher. "Should do really well in league 2".

I'd assumed it was 1.5 million Turkish Lira. Though even that would have been a rip off.

I cannot begin to imagine that anyone at the club had ever watched him play before we signed him.

That 6 months. Christ alive, there can't ever have been a worse period of striker signings by a functioning league club. Cukur, Vilca, Dodoo, Hiwula, Agard, Griffiths.

Vilca by the way was on loan for 3 months in the Serbian League earlier this year. Made one start for a team that typically plays in front of crowds of 250. He was taken off at half time.

Must have been some sort of mutual agreement/ ffp step around as it makes no sense otherwise

Not a signing to be overjoyed by, but I guess we are close to the bottom of L2 and just about what calibre of player that we could attract

You don’t half talk a lot of shite
You talk the biggest pile of shite on here, just love to slag people off with the slightest negativity

Every single post you make is negative. You’re the first on here when we lose and completely disappear after a win.
Slagging off new signings before they’ve kicked a ball, slagging off the club at every opportunity.
Clueless
You talk utter bull shit u first class clown
First slight bit of negativity I’ve posted this season, if you find more let me know, mr gob shite

Ha ha
Who you trying to kid.
People only need to take a Quick Look at your posts to realise every other post is negative bile

Do you think Joe Ironside would be a Rovers player if Gaz Laz had any say in it Jonathan?

As someone else pointed out, stats don’t show the amount of sweat, fight & vision a player like Joe has shown in spades.

Of course Rovers supporters don’t want to see ‘duff’ players brought into the club, but when the person you are ‘heralding’ says on another post ‘I said Sotona was a poor signing’ & ‘Joe Ironside won’t score more than 10 outside play league goals this season’ then all HIS ‘credibility’ goes out of the window for me.

That’s not positivity Jonathan, it’s arrogance on a grand scale AND it’s that sort of negativity against Rovers players I will ‘jump all over’ whoever spouts it.

That’s where I’m coming from.

I said at the time, Joe Ironside was a low risk, better than average League 2 striker. That’s what he has proved to be. Has he got scope to improve above that? No. Is there any sell on value? Very likely not (doesn’t need to be with all signings either). In the position we started the league season (bottom 4 quality team), we needed players like this to stabilise us and improve us into a top half team. Will JI be the man to propel us into the top half of L1? Probably not. Was he obviously a better signing than Lavery, Bogle, Agard… obviously.

We should have a poll of who was the worst, to be honest I think I would go for Todd Miller, but you could certainly throw a blanket over all them mentioned

You’re doing it again, camouflaging that one line statement you made so arrogantly about Joe Ironside, lest you’ve forgotten “Joe Ironside will not score more than 10 league goals from open play”.

All this ‘fluff’ about sell on value, scope to improve, not likely to propel us into top half of the division is exactly that, ‘fluff’.

If you don’t have the gonads to admit that your statement “Joe Ironside will not score more than 10 league goals from open play” was clearly an uncalled for, negative stance on a footballer who will probably (only Owen Bailey deserves it as much) win club & supporters player of the season due to his work rate, tenacity, desire to win every ‘personal battle’ on the pitch, never give in attitude & last but not least his goals then you have no gonads.

As for the other poster who can’t see past his graphs & stats & tells you to ignore anyone who dare challenge you because they only do so in ignorance….(excuse me I accidentally spat my tea out laughing)…….or words to that effect, well good luck with that one.

Gaz isn't wrong yet about the 10 open play goals and if Miller hadn't been injured all season that might have been different. However he's said he's glad if he's proven wrong so not sure why two people are on this forum using it as a stick to beat him with. However, like already has been said Gaz tends to be right more times than not.
