Newport County vs Eastleigh

Today’s match was a 1-1 draw which is a good result for us if in tomorrow’s draw the winners are drawn against a top 6 team/big club in R4. The Newport players aren’t going to be diving in giving it all in case they get injured or suspended and miss the chance to at Old Trafford, Anfield etc.

I can't believe we're worried about teams like Newport how we have fallen

The third ever game I saw was at home to Newport, we won 5-1 and I won’t bore anyone on here with the details but it was a special match, but they are again in our league, and our next opponents.
Perhaps I should jump on the bandwagon like certain others, but my glass has always been half full were OUR team is concerned.

Or they put in extra effort to impress, ensuring they get picked for their 'big game'?

Winners to play Wigan Athletic or Manchester United.

Massive incentive for both clubs to win the replay.

Wigan at home will be tough for them

Windy got three and big Bren two.
Kitch didn't score but finished the season with 25.
Those were the days.

Yep, those were the days indeed.

When 'Expected Goals' just meant that Windy Miller was bombing down the wing with the ball and Big Bren was waiting in the middle.

Was that game the one where we were 1-0 up with five minutes to and suddenly everything went mad?

I’m pretty sure that was the game where my mate wanted to leave early as someone had offered a lift and he wanted to avoid the queues for the bus home. Which is why to this day I have never, ever left a game until the final whistle has blown.

That’s the match, 1-0 up with less than 10 mins to go and end winning 5-1 !!!

Thanks. I was pretty sure that was the one.

(For the record, my mate did take the lift he was offered. He never did it again)
