Was he as good as Kel Coslett who played for St Helens ? probably not as good as Graeme Langlands St George and Australia all time great, but not bad.
Kidding really a great player, person, and entertainer, but two great players there the same era got little publicity in this country.

I watched a highlight reel of him yesterday. An absolute genius, but it was startling to see how small the players were 50 years ago compared to today's.
Apparently he, as a medical doctor, was very concerned about the physical damage caused by today's players hitting each other head on, where in his day there was more emphasis on lightfootedness and avoiding tackles.
It makes you wonder what long term damage is being racked up by today's rugby players in both codes. I suspect we'll be looking back with horror in a decade or so as the current players age and the damage becomes apparent.
And on that note, I'd be amazed if heading in football is still routine in 15 years time.

What a pity that the Rugby World Cup didn't start until 1987. That Welsh team of the 1970s would have p*ssed it.
