2019 Voters - where are they now?
« on January 13, 2024, 10:17:31 am by wilts rover »
Voting intentions as declared in December 2023 - I found this chart fascinating.

Almost all those who voted Labour in 2019 will do so again. Yet less than half of 2019 Tories say they will. And of those who have defected - it's a fairly even split with about half going to Reform and half to Labour. They have moved too far right for some ex-voters - and too far left for others!!

Then the Tories have only gained a small fraction of new voters to replace those who have died. Whereas Labour has more new voters than those who have died.

Lot of undecided voters still to aim for.

As I said, I found this fascinating.

Massive Labour victory ensured then.
Personally I’m really glad about this.
A brighter future ahead for us all.

That's right, mate. It's the beginning of a glorious new future with Keith at the helm.

Like most of people around the Country .... I'm asking "where am I now" as well.

Another massive widespread change of Boundaries to move some of Thorne into Doncaster East and Axholme apparently

And apparently Mr Fletcher will be an ex MP with Labour having a predicted 80% chance of winning the Seat

I see no Greens switching to Cons, Reform, or not voting. Notable none to dead either!

The main takeaway though, is you're personally more likely to die if you vote Cons. I wonder how the overall death rate correlates with Tories being in power?

of course the section of voters not included in that graph are the ones living abroad for more than 15 years that the Tories have added. I wonder who'll those extra 2 million will be voting for? I'm guessing little interest in UK social reform or welfare. Democracy eh?

Who will those youngsters, who weren’t old enough to vote in 2019, vote for.

They are the blocks in white on the graph.

Ah, thanks.
Interesting that a big proportion say they either don’t know or won’t vote.

If they can't vote on their phones they probably won't bother Hound .

It's not really a large amount.

5/12 are in the DK or WV columns. That's about 40% of the total number of new voters.

The total number DKs/WVs in that figure is about 35%.

The difference is lost in the noise. But if it gives old folk a reason to moan about young uns...

What a narrow minded,sweeping statement.

I seem to recall that in Elections past that Postal Votes , because they are not in a Constituency are allowed to be placed where the Party voted for wants to assign them

This was what they did . So imagine how many Results could be swung either way if it still happens

Lets face it the Votes have to be spread about when you think about it because they can't go a single Constituency

Someone will know , but I have Beer to Barrel and Wordless to solve

Overseas voters must apply to register in the local authority of the last address they were registered to vote or were resident.

Overall, then I think more will be Tory voters - ie not interested in positive reform or welfare. Are you thinking this is wrong?

Given Boris the clown, Truss the ‘unwanted’ & Sunak, ‘when did I get the opportunity to vote for him to lead the country’ I think if Labour don’t get in with a majority of 80+ seats I’ll eat my hat.
