He's got the pace we are lacking for a 4-3-3.

Should be an upgrade on Faal for the wide forward position. Faal looked like a fish out of water there. Adelakun has experience and pedigree in that role.

Played the first half of the season at Lincoln, wonder why they’ve let him out on loan.

The Lincoln locals describe him as inconsistent at best. If GMc rates him, that’s good enough for me. He’s clearly not in The Imps plans going forward.

I've just asked my boss about him as he is a Lincoln ST holder, his response was simply 'oh dear'

 From hull site.
"Hakeeb is a player I’ve admired for a few years now,” said Head Coach Grant McCann.

“Seeing him at Scunthorpe, and managing against him, he was always a threat for them. He had a tremendous time there, in terms of goals and assists.

“He’s coming here on the back of knowing what it’s like to get promoted, and what it’s like to challenge. He was in a successful Scunthorpe team that twice just missed out on promotion. He went to Rotherham last season and they got promoted. He knows what it takes.

“He’s a really, really good signing. What I like about him as well is he’s flexible. He can play across the front three, as a number 10, and he brings us pace and power, which I feel can be a big factor for us this season.”

Worth noting that, whilst it’s another loan deal, it won’t be a cheap one.

Very vague statement to make. Unless you have some insider info we don’t have a clue about the financials. Whether we cover his all his wages or a percentage I’m not sure. I doubt a loan fee would be paid for him

Ironside, Waters, Carty, Hurst, Molyneux, Taylor, and now Adelakun, in contention for 3 forward places.

With our ineffective midfield, weakened by Westbrooke's absence, isn't there a lack of balance here?

A good mate of mine who’s a Lincoln City fan said to me “ I’ll let you judge him, he’s got a nice long throw “

My nice long throw keeps me snug on a cold night when I’m watching the telly.

I think we will see Bailey used more in midfield and imo I think we will see another midfielder brought in with one making way.

Waters is effective as a no.10 as Gaz said.

My mate who’s a Hull fan thought he was pretty decent and that was at league one level.

I thought when I was looking at him as a punt that he had 6 months left on his contract, but now I can’t find his Lincoln contract length anywhere.

Can anyone find it?

Why sign a right winger when we have Moly nailed on to play there and JT coming back? I think Grant may have him covering the central spot. Don’t really get the thinking regarding the balance of the squad at the minute.

Remember us being linked with him years ago, maybe when McCann was here last.

Presumably if he does well, then he's one we could conceivably sign permanently.

Under Moore apparently.

Is Moly nailed if he keeps missing chances?

Isn't Molly out of contract in the summer?
I'm putting 2 and 2 together on this signing

Can we really rely on JT to get/stay fit?! Hakeem can play anywhere across the front 3 and his versatility is probably one of the reasons grant moved for him when he caught wind he was available this window.

Personally I could maybe see Hurst dropping into a 10 position for us

Can he play in any of the front 3 positions? Possibly in the same way anyone with two legs can. Can he play them all affectively though? Certainly not.

Well McCann seems to think so as he said it in his interview so perhaps that’s why he signed him.

Don’t see him as a centre forward. Good option for the wide forward areas. Interesting to see if it’s 433 or 4231 with Waters in the 10. Personally prefer to have 4231 to get the goal scorers on the pitch.

We will have good options off the bench for a change now which is needed to have a proper finish to the season.

Think we should stop suggesting Taylor is an option. He’s no future here even if he’s fit much rather we play this lad and look at offering him a deal in the summer if he does well.

I don’t think it takes a genius to guess that he will be on established L1 wages compared to the usual kids we loan from prem teams which are probably much cheaper deals.

Some experience we needed, hope he is just what we need to get firing on all cylinders

Scored a variety of goals, great goal 38 seconds in

Seems quite a few goals scored from the right flank cutting in. I wonder if Moly's clips/goals over a similar period of time would look more impressive??

Difficult to gauge just what McCann expects from him and how he intends to utilise him but, he'll certainly provide us with further options.

We know Sotona was pacey too but his overall contribution was questionable to say the least. We'll just have to judge Adelakun on merit on what we see.
