Simplistic view

When Senior and/or Maxwell fit again get Rowey back into midfield because anyone with eyes can see Tommy ain’t a fullback. If necessary play 3 central defenders with Wood in the middle flanked by Bailey and McGrath. Our best performance in recent weeks was at Mansfield when we played with 3 up Molyneux and Faal with Ironside deeper. Grant could utilise this strategy with Molyneux up top alongside Waters who is diminutive but tricky anchored by Joe.

Anyway these are my thoughts to lift the current malaise.

Loosing Faal was naff , the team were just starting to get somewhere upfront . Ironside needs a foil to playoff and now he’s back to square one . Molyneux has to be the most unproductive player on the pitch , he runs into blind alley after blind alley , he seldom gets a shot off or on target . Yet he gets possession in key areas where we need it but just looses the ball too often he has  no discipline or belief in what he’s trying to do . He drags players up the pitch only for them to have look disappointed at having to run back as teams break on us !!

Just sums our fans up who all said how much more balanced the team looks at 442 when we were getting tanked after picking up 4 points from Mansfield and MK. Now weve been tanked everybody wants a back 3 again.

It wasn’t the formation it was the players in it, Rowe is not a left back, Maxwell should have played there, Craig isn’t ready and we didn’t pick the players who could give us the energy up top

If I remember correctly, Richie Wellens signed Rowe to play left-back, and a few managers since have played him there also. They surely can't all be wrong, can they?

I Don't Know DVR, but it doesn't seem to be working in hindsight!

It doesn’t but it also doesn’t seem to deter manager after manager from trying to make it work

If we’re playing a back 4 Jack Senior is the best option at LB until Maxwell improves as a defender.

Last time Maxwell played in a back 4 was under McSheffrey, and he rightly wasn’t convinced.

There's a theory there, and different managers playing Rowe in that position prove it is a theory shared, so it's not a uniquely stupid theory!

My twopenneth is similar to this. Centre backs x3. Personally I would have Bailey in front of them, omitting Olowu, with Nixon & Maxwell as full backs, options there with Sterry & Senior. Bring in a keeper who can command his area, & I'm sure we would at least siow down the goals we are currently leaking in.

Well they've all been sacked?
