Great result. We are on a roll. 16 points from 7 games

Mention for Biggins. Been like a new player this last 5/6 weeks.

Molly very quiet in 1st half but terrific in the 2nd half

A great effort from all the team today.
Hope those injuries were minor ones.

Onwards and upwards we go.

Can’t see from the highlights, but from my recollection there was a defender that slid off the pitch that may have played him onside

I don't know why Crewe would have their keeper in a different shade of blue to the rest of the team. They all merge together. Was trying to work out how that corner flew straight in and it's hard to distinguish the keeper from the rest of them.

Yeah I think it's something to do with technically players not being allowed to leave the pitch without permission from the ref, so they brought this in specifically to stop players leaving the pitch to play somebody offside.

Looked like the lino and ref had to explain the rules to a few of the Crewe players at well

You can see the reaction of the Crewe players. One puts his hand straight up as if to say he must be off only to look and see where his defender is which brings on a look of dejection.

There was a player who had slid off the pitch.
Does he count as on the pitch under the rules of whether a player can be played onside.
I genuinely don’t know.
If not then Tommy was definitely offside.

Edit. Just seen the explanation by some posters.

over the course of a season, nearly 2 pts a game is title winning form, so nothing wrong with getting carried away :-)

I think when Moly skins their Number 2 on the touch line, he and another Crewe defender slide off the pitch trying to stop Moly’s brilliant ball in.

So when Tommy touches it in, both players are off the pitch over the touch line, meaning Tommy is onside. On the video, both their players are off-screen.

I reckon Tommy knew he was onside by the way he was smiling after he scored.

I have to say that I didn’t know that the rule about players off the pitch playing attackers onside had been changed.
In years gone by that wasn’t the case.

Just seen the goal from someone with a camera in the East Stand, which shows a Crewe player coming back onto the pitch (half on, half off) as Tommy Rowe pokes the ball home so clearly onside. Well done linesman!

it’s was onside anyway even if he was off the pitch like the other player
