Gillingham signed Crewe's top scorer Elliott Nevitt.

Signing strikers straight after the best season they will ever have is a suboptimal strategy.

Surely subs have always been optional.

See Tranmere signing Kristian Dennis last year, really dumb.

Nevitt looked a good player to me, very aggressive and worked his nads off

Nevitt is a typical hard man CF using every ounce of muscle and trickery to get the better of Tom and Woody, but he didn't like it at all when he got bested by our two, moaning and falling all over the place gesticulating at the ref every time. Is it part of their make up as a nasty bugger or just gamesmanship? I don't know any more!

Signing strikers straight after the best season they will ever have is a suboptimal strategy.

He is 28 in October and has only played three season of league football, all at League Two level. Could be a late bloomer or he could have had a outlier of a season - either way he has had one half decent season:

21/22 - 7 league goals in 40 appearances
22/23 - 4 league goals in 43 appearacnces
23/24 - 16 league goals in 43 appearances

As Dickos says, he’s a big unit, hard working and a bit of a handful. Those things won’t change. Gills have aspirations of winning the league, this signing strikes me as one bourn out by a pretty basic thought process. It will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Different playing positions, but I'd say our signing of Sbarra shows more intent.

I think he brings more to the table than goals, you pointed out his record wasn’t great for Tranmere but their fans love him

I'd take both ironside and miller all day long before him

It is going to be very interesting to see how Ironside and Miller both fit, works.

Nevitt is an absolute shithouse and when you’re at the top and trying to win the league holding on to a 1-0 lead is invaluable.

Ironside/Miller fit perfectly into a 3-5-2!

Morecambe have just re-re-hired Derek Adams as manager, so likely we'll get to enjoy his charms again at some point next season.

MK Dons signing Laurence Maguire who was at Crawley last season is a good bit of business.

Gillingham have signed Aaron Rowe! The Crewe player who tore us a new one in that 2nd leg. I’m getting worried about them now. Good manager too.

Gillingham certainly throwing a bit of dough at it.

It’s going to be another tough league to get out of next season. Can see it being a struggle

Salford are signing Cole Stockton on a two year deal. I doubt there's a better player in League Two.

I would rather have Ironside every day of the week.
Stockton is past his best imo.

I hope you are right. Stockton does appear to have a questionable attitude which is probably why his career hasn't reached greater heights.

Agree with this. Gillingham and Chesterfield made some very good signings. We won't walk this league. Going to need to be at out best.

All well and good talking about the signings of others, not many would get in our squad as it stands.

Stockton could barely move in that Barrow home game.
