What an extraordinary generation of ordinary people our immediate ancestors were/are.Where would we/Europe/the world be now if they hadn't firstly stood up to an immense and powerful evil and finally, with the help of friends and allies, defeated it?It doesn't bear thinking about.
I see the British paras were made the show passports to the beaurocratic EU frogs yesterday. They actually had trestle tables with laptops waiting for them in the middle of a field. Imagine the insult, and the Irony!
Those commemorations today were breathtaking. The whole thing made me emotional. I felt so proud of those veterans being honoured, and so grateful for those that gave their lives.A special mention also to all the armed forces, the musicians, the singers, the dancers, and all the readers, that put on such a magnificent, moving tribute.

I can't imagine why Sunak felt the need to leave early. How could he not realise how disrespectful it is not to attend such a solemn event as this. The president of the United States was there. For goodness sake the chancellor of Germany was there. And the UK? ... Cameron...I mean how? What was Sunak thinking?Apparently in his diary, he was going to give it a miss altogether. It's embarrassing.
